I love it when a month starts on a Monday :j
Me too, suki. I always feel like I'm failing at the first hurdle when it starts at a weekend.
Thanks for the annual totals cathy. I'm very pleased with mine. I'm averaging 14 a month which considering my floor target is 10 and I was on holiday for a big chunk of February is brilliant.:D I know June is going to be a 'bad' month too so I need to get as many bonus days in as I can.
I'm away for a week this month too so need to make sure I'm AF whenever I can.
Do keep us posted on the dog situation HB. I'm not a pet person really but he does look adorable.:)

Everyone Welcome Anytime of the Month! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Honey_Bear wrote: »I've ended up choosing this one! We're waiting for a homecheck because I've never adopted from Many Tears before which should be today or tomorrow; she's due to be spayed on Monday and we'll collect her on Friday all being well. Cat tolerant/friendly collies are rare, and whenever they have appeared they've been snapped up before I saw them; all the other dogs I liked turned out to be rabid cat chasers.
I need a dog just as much as this one needs a home. She's apparently tried to be as clean as she can in her kennel so that bodes well for house-training, and I'm working out the first week's schedule with a dog-sitter for the couple of times I have to go out so she won't be on her own at all. With stranger-friendly dogs the big fear is that they develop separation anxiety (as Kelpie had, mildly) so that needs to be managed very carefully, especially to begin with. I'll go back to sleeping downstairs until she's recovered from her surgery, and it'll mean the cats won't inadvertently surprise her during the night.
I've got a friend with a couple of golden cockers and my first memories of a dog are a spaniel my father had that didn't get walked at all, living in a flat in London with three small kids, which bit two people so he had to be put to sleep. Ironically his name was Sleepy. My parents' record with dogs wasn't brilliant when I was growing up, and it's only now that I've had dogs I realise why. People can learn from mistakes.
Honey Bear, your new dog looks absolutely beautiful, hope all goes well with the homecoming process0 -
We've collectively done over 1,000 AFDs between us for the year so far ... 1,059, to be exact. That's a lot of AFDs!
Wow! Massive! Society and the NHS will thank us for that one day. And thank you so much, Cathy Bird and Shaggy for keeping the thread going. Much appreciated.
Thank you for your comments about Debby. She is pretty, isn't she. I'm chewing furniture here because we haven't had a call from the the Home Checker yet, and that was supposed to be within three days of her being Reserved for us. I've sent a gentle email reminder; she's being spayed this morning so fingers crossed that goes smoothly.
