All routine health checks and cancer screening checks have now come back and everything is great. One more routine check to have in a few months and then I'm done for a bit. Relief phewwww....the joys of getting older!
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I completed last week’s SNC with 5/5. Can I please be put down for 5 again this week?

I am up to 6/16 for the month 1/5 for the SNC and 50/183 for the year! There was a year 2014 I think ,when I managed 49 AF days for the whole year, so an achievement in itself!. I’m in a better place than I used to be (I was left with a 2year old, a 2month old and some physical injuries from a car crash) and I used to use drink to help which, of course, we all know is the worst thing to do.

Re the spending while drinking though, I bought house insurance on Friday while under the influence, so at least it was a necessary spend, haha. Even managed to get cashback on it!

I was sorely tempted to drink yesterday, but I didn’t. Had it in my head from about 3pm or 4pm that I would have a few while waiting for my girls to get back from their dad’s. But I resisted. Had tea ad biscuits instead. Time kept getting on and I hadn’t succumbed to the first drink, so by 8pm and then 9pm, I made the decision to just not bother.

Those days mean more to me than the days where I just don’t think about it as it feels like more of an achievement if that makes sense.

That's great to hear Shaggy. Delighted for you.:A

I'm only going to get in a couple of AFDs this week. It's my birthday tomorrow and eating out and then again later in the week. Plenty of month left after this week though.:)

    5/10 AFDs please.

It's a myth that mixing drinks is what causes the hangover - grape and grain etc. The reason people can feel bad after a night when they mixed them is actually down to the fact that nights when people have both are usually heavy drinking nights. It's the total amount of alcohol that's the problem.

One G&T before dinner, two glasses of wine with dinner and a liqueur afterwards is quite a serious amount of booze, whether they're poured at home (even bigger) or at a pub (measured, smaller).

Strange, because my own experience tells me that if I have red wine or champagne with anything else I can really feel it afterwards :( Also, I would have said I'd had quite a bit the other night, especially for my lower tolerance these days, yet didn't really feel it the following day. I accept the general thrust of the argument though, which is that a "small" amount of booze can be anything but.

That's great news Shaggy - must be a relief :)

Calling it early tonight so 2/12[/COLOR] for me and 1/4 for this weeks challenge. Shaggy, that must be a huge relief, I’m very happy for you!

    Thanks for the sympathy Loveasale!

Well done on enjoying your AF weekend Annie, that’s a real milestone!

You too, Pollyanna, 50 for the year so far is great!

ArsenalBarnie my stop button goes awol with wine and cider, like others I tried other drinks, even lager which I don’t like. I can drink AF beer instead of lager and it doesn’t bother me but haven’t found an AF wine I like yet.

CuppaTea hope your pains continue to get better - look after yourself.

    9/20 and 2SNCplease.
Congratulations on results Shaggy, always a relief to have results when ok.

Well done Annie and Pollyanna too - especially resisting having been tempted.

I struggle too with wine, not beer, lager or spirits. Very glad I didn't buy 10 litre boxes Honey, that would have been disastrous with my I'll jus have another 'little' glass to go with -insert food of some sort! Brilliant for liver and waistline.

Happy birthday for tomorrow Maman; hope you are throughly spoiled.
