16/15 for me today, 4/4 on the SNC
I'm bored and lonely and finding life incredibly difficult at the moment. As I don't have to do anything on Friday, I think I will drink tomorrow. I need something to look forward to.
I know I sound pathetic but being unemployed absolutely sucks, I can't help reflecting on what a huge mess I've made of everything.Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -

AnnieG, haven't you just had two job interviews (maybe one is tomorrow)?? It is a really tough market out there at the moment but you seem to have been getting out there and giving it loads of effort - surely that's great? Not saying it's easy but you seem to me to be doing really well under the circumstances. I don't know your background so can't really comment on how you've got to where you are but we all sometimes feel we've made a hash of it, maybe you're going through one of those times?I have misgivings that if you drink because you're lonely and bored you might end up feeling worse, that's all. Thank you Cathybird. Long story short I had an amazing job overseas which I quit in the midst of homesickness at a time I wasn't taking my anti depressants.
I did have an interview this morning for a short term position and have another tomorrow morning which is for a job back in Asia. If I go abroad I'll have to rehome my dog which I'm struggling with at the moment.
I think you're right that drinking may well make me feel worse, I'll try and get to the doctors and ask for some counselling and/or an increase to the dosage on my medication xxSay what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
Feel for you Annie ,,, my life has been so up and down past few years ,,,,,,as most of us have written lately ,( HB was one I remember well )
I too would like to treat myself and have a drink to look forward to ,,, but after when I wake up on sofa at stupid o’clock with tv still on and I have a fussy head , my kids make snide remarks, my bank balance goes down rapidly as the wine keeps flowing ,,,,, I know I will r3great it , so best not for me to do it in first place !!
Please I wish you not to be bored and with a dog your never lonely xxx:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:0 -
Annie: I hope you hear quickly from your interviews, being in limbo is not good. You do sound like you are struggling a bit, but you have had so much upheaval recently that's not surprising. Give yourself credit for plugging away at the applications, I'm sure something will come up soon
.
4/5 and 24/25 for me today.

Annie, you didn't "make a hash" of things when you gave up the job though, as you phrase it - you were ill with depression, so it's not as though it was bad judgement in the normal sense! Losing the job does sound a shame but also makes you sound eminently qualified to get another and I'm guessing two interviews within a short time bodes really well? ... Do be kind to yourself - I had a bout of depression about 20 years ago and I know the tendency while ill is to think very harsh things of yourself, which don't help and aren't true. Going to the doctor's sounds like a good idea and whatever else happens I find myself thinking it would be nice if you could keep your dog. I'm sure we are all hoping things work out for you soon xxx0

Hello Annie. I'm sending you lots of hugs. Well done on securing the job offer and all the other interviews - (a job offer and other interviews and it's only January!). You and your skills are in demand. You haven't made a mess of anything, but shown immense fortitude and tenacity. I don't think having a drink is the answer as alcohol is a depressant; please take care of yourself.
All my best wishes.0
