Sorry about your doggy HB, but the only silver lining is that now some other lucky doggy will get a new home when you are ready! Like you, I can't understand the mentality of throwing out your loyal pet for a cute puppy. Our local animal charity get all the excuses, but had heard it all this week when someone said they had a phobia about falling poo and had to get rid of their dog!
Well done to all those who stayed AF last night, I was tempted too but we were away with friends so my Dec total is 29/20.0 -
Could I join in this please. I am aiming for 29 days in January.Make £10 a day in May- £90/£1500

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog Honeybear. I lost mine in February and still miss her.
I was terrible over Xmas as always. Only managed 9 days in December, but 159 over the year which is a slight improvement on the year before.
I'm not sure I'm brave enough to post a target, but I would like to attempt Dry January (I know some people say why if you are just going to go mad on the stuff again in February, but I just want to see if I can do it).
If I don't manage the above, I still want to be AF Sunday through to Thursday and only drink Fridays and Saturdays. This way I will be cutting down and is what I tried last year. I really looked forward to that prosecco on a Friday!
But over Xmas, I just ate and drank like anything. Even felt that I wasn't enjoying it near the end, but still didn't stop me.
I am hoping for 183 for the whole year, so maybe I should set a target of 16 days a month in order to get there.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Besides having more AF days, I also would like to try and cut down on how much I drink each time I do.
However, I don't seem to have a stop button and if it's not going to a AF day, then I just tend to go over the top.
Does anyone have any tips on how to drink less on the days when I do drink? I have tried starting later which seems to help a little bit.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

hey Pollyanna, it's really good to hear from you - I was a bit worried that you had left the thread, to be honest.
Re drinking less, starting later in the evening probably does help, but the thing that really helped me was having lots more AF days in general because over time the tolerance really drops - I just can't drink anywhere near as much as I used to now. So if you could stick to 16 days a month you would probably find it would make a difference to how much you wanted to drink overall.
Having said all that I think nine days in December, which is a month when a lot of people overdo it, is a really good effort!0 -

Thanks for that. I'm hoping my tolerance drops, but I can't see that happening to be honest. I got to 159 days last year, but last night I opened a second bottle of prosecco at 11.30pm and knew that I would finish it as I didn't want to just waste it. But why did I feel the need to open another bottle? Arrgghh. Oh well. Onwards and upwards.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
