Sending more positive vibes for your interviews annie and well done on stopping yourself last night.:)

I've only ever known the site to refuse too few characters Shaggy. How odd. Sorry to hear you're being messed about.:(

Unexpectedly at home this evening, got my diary confused with next Monday.:)

    1/10 AFDs please Shaggy.
  • Annie G - well done on the job and good luck, well done for not drinking when you really felt like it, that's a real accomplishment.

HB - really encouraging to me to read that it gets easier not to drink after 60 days, though I am beginning to realise that it is. Also thanks for the honest and sobering post about Xmas Days past. I had never reached that stage (but only because I have a phobia about throwing up and always stop myself), but I was certainly getting worse.

Shaggy really hope your sister is ok and send wishes. Don't know what I would do without my sister, family is so important.

Have been thinking about why I am finding being AF relatively easy at the moment and the only reason is because I didn't start off aiming to be alcohol free for any length of time. I just did Stopober, then am seeing how it goes each day. I honestly believe that if I told myself I would never drink again, I would be back to square one and drinking every night, but telling myself I don't really fancy one tonight on a daily basis seems to work for me. I read one of the '30 day alcohol experiment' posts which stated exactly that. If we feel we are denying ourselves of something whether it be alcohol, nice food, cigarettes etc then it is difficult to continue. But if we are saying I am looking forward to that nice alternative drink I have that tastes like G&T tonight, then it feels easier. It's worked for me anyway as I have to have that incentive rather than the negative. That makes your giving up even more amazing to me HB as I could never just it just on the basis that I feel I have to!

    Good afternoon everyone,
Firstly Shaggy sorry to hear about your sister, Anniecongratulations. Shaggy if you get the opportunity final tally for November was 24 off the mark with 1 for December.

Survived the night away with the girlfriends I drove so had to remain the sensible one as driving the next day where potentially over the limit is something I was absolutely aware of. I did drink, but only had a gluwein and 1/2 a beer. I was very proud of myself....phew.

    Arkers x
  • Shaggy, sorry to hear about your sis and 6 days drinking. Glad you are getting back to normal now she’s out again.
Annie, good luck with your interviews!

I’m on 1/14 for Saturday and planning to be AF tonight.

    I've been slipping.

Had my usual Friday and Saturday nights of drinking, but then threw in Sunday as well. Arrggh!!! Have no idea why I thought it would be a good idea. It certainly didn't seem like a good idea at 6.45am this morning!

I have been good for a few weeks and now slipping, but I am determined to get back on it. I blame boredom for drinking yesterday. I was at home with no kids and I just thought why not.

So I'm aiming for 4 on this SNC now :(
Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
    Mortgages (End 2017) - £180,235.03
    (End 2021) - £131,215.25 DID IT!!!
    (End 2022) - Target £116,213.81

3/15 for December (I'm in my pyjamas, have no booze in the house and won't be going out) and 2 for the SNC.

I shan't tempt fate by saying I'm on a roll!!

    1/14 and 1SNC please.

Hope your sister is feeling brighter Shaggy even with operation soon.

Annie G really pleased to hear about interviews, especially in December, often not a great month for recruitment.
