For December could I go for 15 AFDs please
  • Cathybird can I be added to the yearly challenge with 300 please? That gives me some leeway each month in case I need it.

Shaggy 25 for December please - not sure if I'll be having a drink on Xmas Day or NYE.

    Challenge met today - 25/25 and 2/2

    .

    Thank you!
I have very annoyingly woken up with a stuffy nose and a headache so cancelled my gym class. There's a circuits class later which I'll go to if I'm feeling up to it.. I've got into a habit of drinking on Sunday afternoons as I don't need to get up for work, so having a class to go to will stop me doing that.

Morning all, 22/21 for me today please. :) Also 2/2 in the weekend challenge.

I thought maybe I should explain re the list of people I put up to start with for the 2019 annual challenge - I basically cut and pasted the list of people who are in it this year and just assumed that if other people wanted to join they would say - it occurred to me afterwards that maybe that wasn't clear! All welcome (obviously), the more the merrier :T

AnnieG, hope you are feeling better later - there do seem to be bugs going round, there was one at my work these past couple of weeks, which I have somehow managed to avoid so far. I don't know if maybe you should rest up if you aren't well? ... I only ask because sometimes if you exercise a cold/flu can get worse. x
  • Many congratulations Fatrab, excellent news! Your are doing so well in your life with job news, cutting down alcohol and the weight loss. May it long continue.

Annie G - wishing you all the best with the job news, seems like there's a lot of positive energy on here at the moment so every chance it will be good. Whatever the outcome, M&S are really good to work for in the interim, so good luck with that.

Good luck maggiem with hitting target. And well done to all those who have already hit so early in the month. There seems to be a lot of good scores at the moment. And a lot of high scores aimed for in 2019.

As for my forecast for Dec and 2019, I seem to be the worst forecaster in the world and don't want to set my self up for failure. So may leave it for now.

Green Karen, I thought you'd been doing brilliantly the last month or so and actually I had been going to say so at the end of Nov!! A total of 24 days on the 25th of the month is a fabulous effort.

Are you sure you wouldn't like to go TF in the annual challenge? Maman is and Arkers did last year. That way there's no pressure but you can still see the numbers building up over the year.

It's true some people have set ambitious targets (which is great) but I think we all relate to targets in different ways - some like to aim really high to spur themselves on, but others (me included) like to set more moderate targets we know we can beat. If you only want to do 5 AFDs a month, that's fantastic - any AFDs are better than none. I wouldn't like to think people weren't taking on the challenges just because they want to set smaller targets. It's all good, you know?

Also, one thing I have observed over the past three or so years I've been on this thread is that the people who set lower targets are often the ones who stick to it over time. Not always :), but quite often the people who disappear really quickly are the ones who set really high targets for a month or two, or however long, then they vanish, so they've either failed and lost heart or they've got fed up because it's not sustainable, it's too much. Meanwhile others who set lower targets are often the ones who are still around, even the ones who are a bit uneven and kind of come and go. It seems to me it's better to set a modest target that's realistic. Anyway, just thinking aloud really.
