So true, and they suggested an app to replace our lovely supportive thread. No way, Shaggy and Baileys and everyone on here are better than any app!

This thread is definitely better than any app but I would still quite like to know what the app is, if you know, Wanna Bee Free? ...

Some years ago I used Drinkaware's programme for a while (it involves entering the number of drinks you have had in an evening and then it calculates the units and tells you off for drinking too much). At the time it helped me to cut down loads, and in fact it was quite frightening what I was drinking before I started it, but it's still not as good as this thread.

I don't have a smart phone, so I don't do the 'Ap' thing. This works, so unless they base it on a mutual support and self-help basis, it's not an improvement, it's just another way of counting. We can all count, that's not the issue.

If it's the App that Adrian Chiles was using I think it nagged you!:D

There's more in the news today about the AF days announcement. Apparently some officers have resigned from the group because they believe that there's commercial pressure from the drinks industry to not encourage people to cut down a lot more than a couple of days a week. They may be right although I still think support and encouragement is better than nagging.:)

    No drinking for me today.

    6/10 AFDs please Shaggy.

    9/25 AFDs today
  • I think they are talking about the one that counts your units here.

I couldn’t find anything anbout those resignations Maman, that is interesting to know. I forget how huge and profitable the drinks industry is.

2/10 for me today and two Homers.

I feel really tired today, not sure if it’s lack of sugar or just shock at my holiday being over.

    Have a good evening all.
  • I use an app called ‘Drink Less’.

Today i have had wine. I had toothache, it’s gone. Well worth it! 2 large glasses. Will try to stay dry tomorrow.

Morning all, 12/21 for me today please :)

Thanks Wanna Bee Free, that's the exact programme I used to use! Actually it's quite nice to see it's still around. Thanks Purple Jay - I'll check out "Drink Less".

Smiley day for me today :j - declaring early on 7/12 please Shaggy

I did try the 'Drinkaware' app when I first started trying to cut down but, as HB pointed out, all it did was help me keep track of what I was actually consuming but didn't really offer any support or encouragement unlike our lovely thread :T
