The line I took from your link, WBF: 'A YouGov poll also shows that they find cutting back on alcohol far harder than eating healthily or exercising.'

I thought to myself 'Why has it taken them so long to catch up with us??':D

I've heard various bits broadcast this morning and they are also focusing on the extra calories in booze/health issues of being overweight. I'm convinced that cutting down/giving up has to be the first step. Good luck to all of you trying to lose weight. You CAN do it!:)

We have a round of family birthday celebrations starting on Thursday so I'm grabbing AF days when I can.

    5/10 AFDs please Shaggy.

So true, and they suggested an app to replace our lovely supportive thread. No way, Shaggy and Baileys and everyone on here are better than any app!

1/10 AFDs please Shaggy and 1/4 Homers for this evening.

Feeling a bit embarrassed and ashamed. Only 4 days s so far this month. My statement of getting back on it in September hasn’t happened. My drinking is too high for me. And my tolerance has increased.
Am going to watch the Adrian Chiles programme tonight for a kick start.
Live for the moment and plan for the future
  • CuppaTea 4/10 is far better than 0/10. No point in beating yourself up, we aren't even halfway through the month yet :).

8/25 for me please. I have a dancey thing!

Morning all, 11/21 for me today thanks. :)
  • 11/30 here. No plans for the rest of the month and I never drink at home so I'm very positive looking forward.

Do you want to joinn the school night challenge for this week - sunday to thursday 5 night? Monthly challenge for September - I think that would be 27 days for you because I think you started on the 4th September?

Hi shaggydoo, thank you. I started on 3rd September so it will be 28 days for September. I won't join the SCN for now thanks.

    Now completed 8/100.

    Have a good day, all.
  • i managed 2/3 last week for the SNC but this week will aim for 5.

Had to much on Saturday and felt rough. I was so disappointed in myself because I had really cut down in the week. This week will be better. Overall units came to about 26 for last week.

Totals for this week are 2/5.

    And for the month 4/15

  • Good morning everyone

8 please Shaggy and 2 for the SNC :D

CuppaTea - as GlendaSugarbean said, no point beating yourself up. 4 is way way better than 0 so don't be too hard on yourself.

Shaggy - love the idea of a diet spreadsheet :D Unfortunately MY jeans are most definately getting tighter.

This afternoon me and Piglet have a meeting with a government run scheme called Alive n Kicking ...its aimed at youngsters who are over the national average for weight. Piglet is very tall..but also a bit broad. Carries it well as so tall but weighs a fair chunk. So we are signing up for this scheme - involves education about healthy eating etc and a section with exercise . Hoping it will give me a boost as well as him.:j

    Have good days all!

I don't have a smart phone, so I don't do the 'Ap' thing. This works, so unless they base it on a mutual support and self-help basis, it's not an improvement, it's just another way of counting. We can all count, that's not the issue.

Slightly off topic, but the term 'Ap' now seems to encompass any digital technology, which means it's become a bit meaningless to people like me.

    11/30 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.
