Cutting Down Alcohol Thread

Anyway I haven't drank for a week and I'm intending to go the month in the same manor. Don't want to set unrealistic targets so will evaluate things then.
You're very welcome billy.:)
WBF has explained how it works, I'll just add in a few bits.
If you set your target for the whole of September you'd be posting 7/30 AFDs now and 5/5 for the SNC. That's 7 out of 30 Alcohol Free Days for your monthly target and 5 out of 5 for the School Night Challenge. If you're not sure you can do the whole of the month yet you could put 7/TF (so Target Free) and see how you go. The SNC is just a little interim target to help us break it down a bit. Alternatively you could do what I do and have a low target and try to exceed it.:D The vast majority of us are cutting down rather than giving up completely. I tend to look at a month and decide which days I plan to have a drink (like weekends or planned special occasions) and use that to set the target. You might also see some annual targets/running totals which those of us who've been posting since January keep a score for.
The great thing about the thread is that you won't be judged just supported. Do keep asking if there's anything we can help with.:)0 -

Thanks All, as always. There were several aspects that contributed to me being able to stop drinking, and this thread and everyone who contributed to it then, and does so now, are all hugely important to me. Gold stars all round - or if you prefer, Dancing Homers and Dancing Bananas.
9/30 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Hi. I wonder if I could join you all in this challenge.
I've started my own personal challenge of 100 days alcohol-free and I'm on day 7 at the moment. The days and the quantity have both crept up on me and I think I need an extended break to try to reset the clock. Getting in from work this week has been the worst time for me.
So currently 6/100

Good morning all
7/22 please Shaggy and 1 for the SNC
Bestlifenow - welcome to the thread and good luck with your 100 days. I know exactly what you mean by reset the clock as I know my own drinking goes in cycles where the frequency increases to the point I know I need a complete break to get back on an even keel.
Maman - you will be pleased to hear I've dug out my SW books, dragged the scales out that were lurking dustily in the corner and I'm getting on with it this weekNot too much of a shock on weighing...I think partly due to the fact I've cut down the alcohol since the beginning of September!
Have good days everyone

Morning all,
I’m looking forward to 4 nights on the SNC now although I’m a bit nervous if I’m honest. Only 2 AFDs last month so Iam very into a drinking habit at the moment.
Saw this BBC article about middle aged people having drink free days:
