Blue Badge PCN with Horizon at Sainsburys

Having read your notes I approached Sainburys Manager to explain that my badge was displayed but due to the sloping dashboard the badge ended up on the floor. I also I said that the time I was getting a paper from his store and returning to the car approx. 10 mins the parking attendant must have seen me leave the car and worked out himself that I was clearly disabled. The manager did not want to know.

What do I do next please, which template do I use, and do I send them proof of my badge ETC.

Escalate in writing to the Sainsbury’s CEO. Threaten withdrawal of custom (you and your family) unless he sorts this.

Tell him how unhelpful his local manager was to a regular customer, who clearly has a need for ‘Reasonable Adjustments’ under the Equality Act 2010. Use those words

Send him a copy of your BB.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

go back, and demands they cancel it, state the blue badge is not valid on private land, and the managers policy is a breach of the equality act by sainsburys, as they are responsible for the actions of their agents, horizon parking.

The manager did not want to know.

I am sure Head Office will when you put this on Facebook and Twitter and get it on the front page of the Daily Mail.

Is this the type of email you had in mind.

As the Chief Executive of Sainsburys I assume you have more pressing problems than to sort out what your General Manager of your Pontypridd Branch in South Wales bluntly refused to do.
Friday 26th January I went to the store to pick up a paper and some milk, I parked in the Disable Bay as I usually do and displayed my Blue Badge, on return my Blue Badge was on the floor of the car and a PCN notice on my windscreen. I was literally 10mins, the Horizon Parking Warden must have seen me get out of the car and clearly seen that I was disabled before putting that notice on my windscreen.
I tried to phone Horizon to explain but could not get an answer, I then drove back to the store to explain to your General Manager and show him my Blue Badge. He was clearly not interested, unsympathetic and brushed me to one side. As a regular customer your general manager was totally unhelpful, his ability to converse with customers non existent and clearly has needs for reasonable adjustments under the equality acts of 2010.
I have attached a copy of my Blue Badge for verification
    The Parking Company is Horizon
    PCN Ref No 7059225
    Operator No OP09
I now appeal to you to as head of Sainsburys to get this parking notice removed.
    Yours sincerely Brian"

I have had a reply today, this is it copied and pasted,

    Your Sainsbury’s Case

    Dear Brian

Thanks for your email to Mike Coupe, I’m writing to introduce myself as your Case Manager.

I’ll be conducting a full investigation on behalf of Mike into the comments you have raised about your parking fine. I hope to be in contact with you soon, normally within 5 working days. If the investigation process takes longer than expected, I will let you know.

On checking our records, it appears we do not have a contact telephone number for you. Therefore, I’d really appreciate it if you could email me at executive.office@sainsburys.co.uk, quoting your reference from above, with a daytime phone number. When our investigation is complete, I’ll give you a call.

In the meantime, if you would like to discuss your email with me, you can call me on 020

Thank you for taking the time to contact us as your feedback is important to us.
    Kind regards

    Craig Swash | Executive Office

Toyboyroy, you would be wise to remove or disguise your Sainsburys Case Number.

There are mischievous people about who might think of using it the wrong way - especially as you have given them a phone number to ring too.
