Posted here because some people need them as ID for opening/operating bank accounts, not just for travel.

The price of a British passport is to rise by £12.50 from 27 March for those applying by post.
The cost of online applications will also go up - but only by £3 to £75.50.
Mine has expired and my immediate reaction to the news was thinking I now need to renew quickly. However, as the cost works out at 63p per month, if I delay renewal by another 5 months and do it online then it works out cheaper to wait and apply nearer to the time I'm going to need it.
However, if your passport is due to expire in the coming months then beating the price increase makes sense. IIRC up to 9 months of the 'old' passport validity can be added onto the new one.

It might be handy if someone could post the bona fide on-line link for applications as people get caught with similar third party ones.0

There have been a few people recently asking about valid forms of ID for opening bank accounts, and some accounts need a passport (or other photo ID) for withdrawals.

No, the OP was extremely vague about why they posted on this board.0 -
Its because the cost of blue ink is more expensive than burgundy, and also because the government has inserted a 'Mug Tax' for people who think that this was all worth it/0

There have been at least ten increases since 1992 (when it was £18).
Yet another 'Blame it on the Brexit' post....0 -

No, the OP was clear - crystal clear - about why they posted on this board. Either you didn't correctly read the OP, or English is not your first language, or.....The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
