What ledge would that be to accomodate a "sledge" hammer.
I'm finding it hard to see one suitable on my Minor 1000.
I read it as a mash hammer rather than an out and out sledgehammer with a 3 foot shaft.0 -
I have a nice little MOT testers rust hammer / prodder and a lovely Snap-On spanner amongst my collection.0

I once lost an expensive Surefire torch on the job. It was that good a torch I bought it back off the finder when it appeared on Ebay0

Never mind the torch,I suspect the mechanics wife was more upset that she never got her batteries returned;);)0

This was over 45 years ago, so cannot remember exact details, but the handle must have been about 2 ft long and it is not a figment of my imagination, the tool had definitely been left under the bonnet and was bigger than a mash hammer (which had it been, might have found its way into my toolbox until it was claimed).
I said ledge, because that is what I assumed it must have resting on. I can't remember what the MM engine compartment looks like exactly and looking in a book on MMs doesn't help my memory. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

Thank You all for the replies. I am overwhelmed by the responses
I have now moved on and see this is useless to prove, however managed to recover some losses (not for the torch lol) via Motor Obusdman regarding the service I received from Vauxhall Dealer.
