Sun_Addict said:New bay windows and door being fitted on Monday. Need to motivate Mr SA into helping me move the cabinet in the hallway so they have a clear run to the door. Plus must remember to take the living room and bedroom curtains down Monday morning. We’ve been in this house for 29 years and these are the only windows and door we haven’t replaced so long overdue. It’s not a cheap do as they are big bays and the front door is actually at the side of the house and a door unit with two sides rather than just a straightforward door. Once these are done we can think about getting the plastering done in these rooms.6

In other non magazine related news, Mr SA has had a letter from Motability saying his scooter lease comes to an end in April and he needs to think about choosing a new scooter. He’s over the moon with this. When I think back to a few years ago he wouldn’t have been seen dead on a mobility scooter. Needs must though, he’ll never be able to drive again and it’s the only way he can get about.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

Sure I could have bought a larger property in a worse area but knew I’d do better picking my area first. Didn’t have off road parking for more than 1 car or a garage until I bought my current res home just made do.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1207

I remember when we bought our current house the solicitor was concerned there was a lot of land at the bottom of our garden that could be built on. No chance as the land is a sheer drop. Good luck to any builders chancing that 😆

Also have to say I grew up in council housing and lived in council housing until 1994. My Mum and Dad bought their council house which is semi detached and the area they live in is lovely, they also have lovely neighbours, there is a block of flats on the other corner and one of the residents looks a bit rough owns a big bulldog etc etc and he is a really nice bloke,my mum chats to him all the time and he has offered to get shopping for them before. My council flat was in an ok place and I had mostly really good neighbours apart from one but he was evicted after I moved in. My next door neighbour was like a second mum to me when I lived there, her family were lovely, there was an elderly couple who lived above me who were also really nice and friendly. I then moved to a brand new council Estate into a brand new three bedroom house but it turned into a living hell so my partner persuaded me to buy the house I live in now. That estate was so rough you couldn't get a taxi to your house, they would drop you on the main road but that was it, it was nick named Little BeriutOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1207

The people that bought the houses overlooking the fields are now all up in arms that they have started developing those fields.
It was blindingly obvious that was the plan. They don't build roads into fields for nothing!5
