Still can’t get over how similar our paths have been. My Dad had a massive (negative) impact on my life too.

Thanks for popping by my diary.
I really hope you ace the tests and manage to write the competencies in a way that reflects your skills and abilities which you clearly have otherwise you wouldn't have received the bonuses and end of the year review.
I couldn't believe how cold it is today. Where's spring gone?
I like bird boxes too. I lived in the Somerset countryside when I was young and my dad had more than ten dotted about his smallholding. Now I understand how lucky I was growing up there but I hated it and couldn't wait to leave!
The problem with Mr SA's wants is that they probably won't ever go away as once one has been met, he will find another. Would your budget allow an "extras" that give both of you some treats. After all, Mr SA's situation isn't your fault. I really hope you can find a way that will let you live as well as possible.
So good luck with the tests. You have the holiday to look forward to.
Take care honey, hugs

SA , I am very impressed by how you handle Mr SA I don't think I would have the patience.
As for the job applications, you have to be in it to win it so the saying goes. Even if nothing comes of it, at least you have tried and not sat there months later regretting not trying.
I hope you succeed at one of them , as you deserve to do well.

I really hope you get a promotion SA, you so deserve one, especially after what happened with your dad.

Numerical reasoning test taken. My score was 21% higher than average but my application was still unsuccessful. I thought I'd done really well. The thing is that I'd be going against graduates taking the same test so the pass level rate gets higher accordingly.
Oh well that's that one off the list. Another application has already been submitted and there are two more to fill in. None of them involve tests thankfully.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Mr SA had canvas shoes for holiday on his pester list but on opening his suitcase earlier has discovered a brand new pair he'd forgotten about and is over the moon. He's got enough tshirts and shorts and has even said he's not sure what to say he needs now. I opened up the summer clothes storage box and it's fair to say I don't need anything else at all. I love it when you discover things you forgot you bought last year.
We had snow first thing but then it started raining so got washed away. The rain stopped briefly so took the dog out but got soaked on the return journey - bloomin rain
I've factored in some personal spending into the revised budget both for me and Mr SA. This will start next Monday.
Still sulking about not getting through that testShould hear if I've got through the sift for job 2 by next week. Applications for jobs 3 & 4 still to go in. I'll get there eventually, I won't give in. Spoke to DS this morning and his friend's mum has just passed away from cancer, same age as me, puts things into perspective.
Still got to do meal plan and make soup for work lunches.
Only 2 weeks to Lanzarote now :jI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Fingers crossed for the next lot of applications SA. Boo to not getting through but at least youve had the practise should anymore need these tests too.
Im glad Mr SA is happy with his finds!! xxMummytogirls x0 -
Pleased you discovered the clothes from last year and the pester list is minimal for now.
The right job will turn up with your name on - I'm sure of it.
