You'll always get people who aren't happy, the main thing is to stay calm and not react. Both angry and upset people will (generally) eventually calm down when dealing with someone who stays calm and who genuinely does want to help. I had one man screaming and shouting at me down the phone in one call centre job but by the end of the call he actually apologised and couldn't have been nicer. 🤷‍♀️ All I did was stay calm (not easy, it wasn't nice to be shouted at) and be firm with him, telling him there was no need to shout and that I'd help him as much as I could. 

If you don't know the answer to a question, just be honest and tell them you'll need to find out for them - there's not much else you can do.

Excellent advice from Sashybo. I understand why you're nervous SA but I know you'll be fine. Doing something you've never done before at work is always nervewracking and I know you'll be dealing with some very stressed people, but I bet tomorrow evening you'll feel fine .

Hope your first day of the telephone calls go well. I get some really angry parents calling every now and again and ive found just being a friendly voice helps and they usually end up saying "im not having a go at you". You'll do a grand job xx
