I’m another who takes a day at a time. I’m a believer of doing what you can when you can - often there and then. We don’t know what’s around the corner for us so We need to make the most of every moment. I feel I’m tempting fate when things are too planned - life has a way of coming along and get in the way......and blowing raspberries at my plans - just because it can 😏January spends - £587.587

Anyone remember the song 'One Day At A Time' ? I can't get it out of my head since this conversation started!
Live in the moment as it's all we really have. XX
I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy8 -
Morning all 😎 Hope everyone is well.
Yes I'm old enough to remember One Day at a Time. Last week I had that song It's the End of the World as we know it in my head, not exactly cheerful 😂
Got up slightly later this morning, tried to take the dog for a walk round the block but she wouldn't go any further than the end of the drive. She'll be out in the garden with Mr SA all day so will get plenty of exercise. As it was 8am there were quite a few elderly people making their way to the shops so felt a bit conscious it might be hard to keep a safe distance. Will need to try earlier tomorrow.
Going to do the Joe Wicks workout at 9am.
Have a safe healthy day 😁
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
I am going to sort out my room today so I have a tv and can do Joe Wickes, he does it on Youtube right?
I just keep thinking how unreal it is all. I shall try the one day at a time thing tho.Nevertheless she persisted.8 -
@Buffythedebtslayer yes it's on You Tube - The Body Coach TV - PE with Joe, aimed at kids but lots of adults do it and it's really good.
All we can do is live one day at a time and try not to overthink. It would be better if we had a timescale for it but unfortunately we don't.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
Another working day done. One plus point being on lockdown is I'm racking up the NSDs 😁
Made some lentil soup at lunchtime using up some carrots and swede that were past their best and my kitchen still smells lovely. Even Mr SA wants to sample it tomorrow. Fortunately I bought 2 big bags of lentils about a month ago when they were on offer as I practically live on lentils and chickpeas.
Did a bit of weeding at lunch time. We have a very long drive and the weeds are starting to spring up between the cracks. I have never seen so many people out and about, running, cycling, walking their dogs. They were all keeping a distance though. I'm only taking the dog out first thing, I don't want to take any chances. I will have to leave the house at some stage as we will need bread and Mr SA's prescription needs picking up, not looking forward to it to be honest. DD has now finished work until Sunday so can't ask her to pick bread up.
Usually I draw out £10 a week to give to Mr SA in case he wants to buy a paper, coffee, etc. Annoyingly he pointed out to me today that he hasn't had his £10 this week. Reminded him he is on lockdown and not allowed to go anywhere to spend it, nowhere is taking cash anyway and there is no way I'm touching a cashpoint right now. Assured him it will still be there when all this is over.
Off to do a stint on the treadmill now to make up my steps for the day.

I wonder why the dog didn't want to go out SA?
It would definitely be good to go early for your walk to avoid people. I'm going to try going to the park early in the morning for my walks to avoid the crowds
Have a good evening.

We have a problem with dog walks. We have 3 dogs. A JRT x aged 13 a 9year border collie and a very nervous Staffie x who wont go anywhere with DH. They are used to 4 walks a day because I cannot walk far due to various joint problems so they get 2 very short walks (we have a green area at the front of the house and no road). A decent run at a different green area very near us early pm and a final 15min walk round tthe block. This one walk a day is really affecting them. The Collie and JRT lay with very reproachful looks this morning when I didnt take them out. If it wasnt for our nervous one we could do 2 walks one with each of us but that just that just wont work. Didnt help that DH has only just believed me that the one walk applies to dog walkers. The annoying thing is we rarely see anyone on any of the walks and even if we do there is enough space to stay 10metres apart let alone 2.
