He thinks he's smaller than he is taff. He won't admit he's XXXL. I think elasticated waists is the way forward. He's gone from a 34 waist to a 42 in recent years, he was a 38 in April this year. I've told him it's bread, chips, cheese, beer and lack of exercise that's doing it - falls on deaf ears of course. He can't do a lot about the exercise obviously but he can about the rest. Before he got ill he was a roofer, up and down ladders all day and burning it off, he's eating and drinking what he was before but not using the calories. I try to cook him healthy meals but he cocks his nose up if chips aren't involved.

    Happy Saturday :)

So today I've cleaned the whole house, took the dog on the park twice and had shellac on my fingers and toes plus eyebrow tint and wax.

Mr SA has done well and has left his scooter at home to walk across the road to the park with his stick and sit on the bench while I threw the ball for the dog.

When we get back from holiday I'm going to try and sneakily cut down his calorie intake without him knowing. I can't do anything about the beer, I'm sick of nagging him but I can try and cut his food calories down.

The plan for tomorrow is pack the suitcases and I would like to declutter the cupboard under the stairs. I've got a Mr M delivery coming with cat and dog food plus bits of food for DD and for the day we come home. Had to add a crate of beer as Mr SA was worried he'd run out!!

Monday I've said we'll take the shorts back but we need to be there for 9am opening time. All Mr SA is bothered about is can we go for a coffee after.

I feel like it's the holiday that never arrives but only three more sleeps now, I am so ready.

If he won't do without chips, have you thought of a second hand actifry or similar?

I've got one taff that's what I use for his chips, I don't fry anything. It's his bread with everything he needs to cut down on - and the beer!

Suitcase more or less packed, just got to pack toiletries tomorrow. Have to keep stopping Mr SA from putting more and more t-shirts in his case. He always takes loads then ends up wearing the same ones every day.

Decluttered the cupboard under the stairs, threw a load of Mr SA's shabby old shoes out that he'd forgotten he had. They weren't even good enough for the charity bag.

Yet another Mr M delivery today - food for the dog, cat and DD mainly.

Will be taking the shorts back tomorrow - now he's decided he wants a new bag to use as hand luggage and for round the pool/beach. It never ends!

Not yet milann, this time tomorrow I will be though :)

The shorts have been exchanged and he got his bag for just £5.99 so not too painful.

Just need to book the taxi, pack last few bits, have another clean round, iron, walk the dog and set the alarm for 2.30 AM  Goodness knows how Mr SA will cope with such an early start, he's not very good until at least 9am. However we're booked into the airport lounge so he can sit and have as many coffees and bacon sandwiches as it takes to wake him up.

I'm sure the cat and dog know we're going away - the cat is sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor - she never sits there! I don't like leaving them with DD as she doesn't look after them as well as we do, she loves them both to bits, but she won't put them first like we do and they won't get fed at 5am that's for sure! I know they'll be fine though and I've got to stop feeling guilty about leaving them.

Don't want to think about it now really but when we get back next Tuesday we've got Wednesday free then Thursday Mr SA has a brain scan followed by consultant appointment, then Friday the cat goes for her expensive dental treatment. It'll be back to earth with a very big bump. In the meantime though I'm going to enjoy every minute of my holiday.

I've managed to get a self inflicted foot injury caused by sheer vanity on my part. When we went in town Thursday I wore sandals knowing I would be walking about 10 miles in total. This was because I knew we'd be going for lunch and didn't want to wear trainers. They rubbed on my toe and I've got a huge sore lump on it that looks like a cherry tomato, it keeps bleeding too. Cross with myself :( So today I was sensible and wore my trainers like I should've done on Friday. Plasters packed.
