A “bunch” for various reasons as per other payers - regular savings, high interest accounts foreign transactions etc etc. Nothing at all to do with budgeting,
OP really you asked the wrong question which should have been along the lines of “what do you find helps you budget your spending” rather than decide the answer is Bank accounts first. I think there is a budgeting forum in here ?0 -
1 joint with my husband.
1 of my own where my salary goes into.
2 x 3% interest Tesco accounts that I use for savings.Mortgage started 2015: £150,000 2016: £130,000 2017: £116,000 2018: £105,000 2019: £88,000 2020: £69,000 2021: £51,195 2023: MORTGAGE FREE!0 -
Five.
1 because I’ve had it forever.
1 for everyday use, mostly with Android Pay.
1 for high interest, direct debit cashback and access to regular saver.
1 for commission free cash withdrawals in Europe.
1 that previously had decent interest and cashback and which I should get around to closing as the benefits have expired.0 -
I have 8. 1 my salary goes into and that directly funds two of my other accounts. 1 is a credit card mirroring account (my terminology) to which money is transferred from my initial account every time I buy something using my card (I have a reward card so use my credit card rather than a debit card). 1 is a bills holding account to which I pay a set amount each week, it is a high interest current account with no direct debit requirements only funding and is kept with the maximum limit for interest. I have 3 bills accounts which are all funded from my bills holding account for assorted direct debits to get the rewards on those accounts. Funding also circulates around these accounts. Finally I have another high interest account for some of my savings. I then have another overspill/potential for switches account.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

I'm afraid I've got no idea how many I have in total as I let my celebrity partner's accountant handle the boring details."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -

Oh, I could easily have been a great deal less nice than that...
And one comment to those people saying that one account is all they need - I really hope that you don't find out one day why you need at least two at different financial institutions.0 -
