yes it is working. One other key change I made was checking ingredients of products to make sure they contain no essential oils which are irritants for some skin types.
I'm not allowed to post links yet but you can google the following.
Paula's Choice Rosacea - there is a specific range you will find from this search however, I use different PC ones myself, these are:
Skin perfecting bha liquid exfoliant (2%) For me, this exfoliant has been excellent.
Resist anti aging ultra light super serum (I use this light one for daytime instead of moisturiser)
Resist anti aging super antioxidant serum - This one for night time - it is heavier. I find this has a real calming effect overnight. I don't necessarily use it every night, usually alternate with the exfoliator.
Niacinamide booster (10%)
I add a few drops of this added to the night serum now and then if my skin is showing signs of breakout or irritation.
You can get trial size products so I strongly recommend that before forking out for full size products - they're not cheap. Once i decided these ones worked for me i invested in the full size ones and they last for a few months.
I also forgot to mention that my dad had rosacea for a large part of his life, it was quite bad, the doctors had him on antibiotics (docxycycline i think) for it over a long period of time, it would clear it up for a while but it would always come back so never felt like a good long term strategy to me - hence when I started to develop it (on top of a history of acne and dermatitis!) I tried all sorts as did not want to be sent down that antibiotic route.
Other things I have done are reduce my sugar and refined carb intake and move from high impact exercise to low impact stuff like walking/hiking and resistance training. Because i combined all these changes at one time who knows what has had a true effect! I just know my skin is now under control - after 15 years of struggle it's such a relief.
good luck
will certainly have a look and see exactly what it is with them.
I'm approaching 32 and really had enough now.
Wasn't as bad when i was married but now im single again it seemingly putting people off.0 -
Thought I’d bring this thread back and keep my comments in the same place.I’ve in the last year started suffering with a hot face, feels more like a hot flush type feeling, no sweating, rather uncomfortable, lasts all day sometimes and then not there other days, redness to the cheeks. My doctor investigated a few things but couldn’t work out why, my friend said it could be rosacea? I’d never heard of it.After looking online I read hot flushes can be connected to it.Worth trying something or speaking again to the GP and asking about this?0

CoreZone said:When I did some online research I read about eyelash mites - yuk. So, for the last 18 months I have been double-washing my face, morning and night, with my regular Wilko liquid face soap, concentrating on my eyelashes each time. I noticed results within 3 weeks (the life-cycle of mites) - no more rosacea or red dots.
Double-washing has been life changing for me and it's cheap and quick to do
I still use Cetraben moisturisers but I can now also use a whole range of products from The Ordinary too. This really is the answer to clearing up rosacea, not expensive lotions or potions or creams. I've written about it in the other longer thread about the condition. I used tea-tree oil diluted heavily with macadamia nut oil to clean my eyelashes morning and night for four weeks and still do ocassionally. It's to do with an infestation of demodex mites which live in eyelashes and eyebrows.Read more here - https://rosaceaskin.co.uk/blogs/blog/demodex-mites-the-complete-guide though also no need to buy the serum they are promoting. Cheap double washing or the remedy I used is effective.

Baby shampoo is also recommended for eyelash mites, any cheap brand will do. I read about this years ago.

Can anyone recommend a cleanser and moisturiser I could try in the meantime?I’ve booked a telephone consultation with the GP.0

As above - soap and water. No need for any particular cleanser or moisturiser - the problems starts in your eyes and only shows on your face.

My rosacea reacts very badly to soap. I use cetaphil face cleanser.

Well, presumably the face cleanser does that since it works.0
