O/S Daily Friday 26th January 2018

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly.

Still dark here drying up under foot but as soon as it dries we get more rain, yesterday did get out to be a sunny day for a while, but air feels cool again this morning.

Dinner last night was pork steaks and sausages, mash, LO veg and gravy. Tonight we'll be having beef casserole, mash and veg. Yesterday didn't really go to plan in the afternoon. I got done what I planned in the morning, and rang dad to see how mum was and he said he needed to go into town to do some jobs could I go and sit with mum (I was going this afternoon so he could do the food shopping). I said I'd be there in half an hour, when I got there he said he needed to do some food shopping, so he went off to do the lot, so I was there from 1.45pm until I got home at 4.45pm but he'd got what he needed and been out, other than short walks with mum I don't think he'd been outside the house since she came home on Monday. Mum was quite coherent and we chatted for a while and watched some tv, I asked what jobs needed doing and was told by dad that nothing needed doing, so didn't persue it.

So on to today -

I'll be heading to the SM first thing, then home to continue with the washing, drying and ironing. The housework needs to be done too, so plenty to be getting on with.

Keep safe and well x

    Morning everyone

Thanks for starting us off nmlc.

Csarina I hope that you are feeling a bit better today.
TA I hope everything went well yesterday.
Hopefully you are feeling a bit better today Dumpling.
Karcher glad to see you posting again, I hope that you are starting to feel a bit better now.
Gers I did have to chuckle at your mum’s comment over the baking powder.

Yesterday I had planned to get two loads of washing done so that I was up to date but for some reason that didn’t happen and I’m left with one load for today. I want to change the bedding this morning as well so there will be even more.

There was some weak sun yesterday afternoon and it showed up the state of my sitting room windows. As first I thought it was on the outside but it is on the inside. I did the inside of the windows at the beginning of December so am surprised at how bad they have got in a fairly short period of time. So I want to start on cleaning the inside of the windows. I will aim to do a room at a time.

I need to go and have a root around in the freezer in a minute for inspiration for dinner today.

Hugs to those who are poorly or caring for someone who is and those with troubles/worries.

Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.

Good morning and AOD I am saying good as I have seen our forecast - it's a dry day with sun!!

Being Friday yet again there is the usual Friday Tidy to be done once the girlies have gone to school. Another lick and a promise methinks. They are back again tomorrow night for yet another sleepover so it's pointless doing too much as it will be as bad as ever! (Well that's my excuse!)

The panto ends it's run this w/e so hopefully life will get a bit easier for DD and, consequently, us and life can get back to some sort of normality if there is such a thing! I am saving the jobs for then!

The fridge seems full of leftover bits and bats so today's menu will include eating them all up. Some strange concoctions afoot I think!

Have a good day all if you can and ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies, carers, sad, worried and lonely amongst us.Take care all xx

    Morning everyone

Was meant to be back to work today but unfortunately I slipped whilst out running yesterday and ended up at A&E having a few stitches in my knee. Was also given an appt today to see a consultant to make sure there is no soft tissue/ligament damage.its quite sore and bruised today with a lovely bruise on my arm. Never mind it could have been worse.

O/s today - not a lot, will rest the knee and hopefully go back to work tomorrow.

Lainey (((hugs))) sorry to read your news re Rosie
Csarina- hope your dh starts to feel better now they’ve changed his medication and you manage some rest.

Lainey So sorry to hear about Rosie.

Friday has come very quickly this week, I am looking forward to the weekend, nothing much planned but a rest.

Plans for today. Put a load in the WM, then hang over airer. Continue with paperwork to do with mom after work.

    Good morning everyone.

Off to Hamilton this morning to see the car insurance appointed doctor about my still sore shoulder. I haven’t been to Hamilton for over 20 years since by Dad died. He was from Hamilton.

DM still asleep so I’m enjoying a few more quiet moments. The baking powder tub is back in the cupboard, hopefully the message has got through.

Yesterday I rang W aitrose customer service about lack of stock in the local store. The agent was really helpful, did some checking and then phoned me back with a answer. Impressive.

I hope everyone has a good day and that tough times are getting better.

    Happy Friday.

    Morning everyone,

Ouch Topsy hope the soreness quickly goes.

Quite foggy here today, not very welcome as we are moving Lulu to her new yard this morning so am hoping it clears quickly. I will head off to the stables soon as she is having a mild sedative to help with the travelling and it takes a while to kick in. I did take our tack and a few bits & bobs over to her new home yesterday, being in a very sandy area there was hardly any mud around despite the recent weather which makes any horse owner happy!

Right, better get going, hugs to all with worries and troubles, get well wishes to our poorlies.

Have a good day folks x
