When screened out I am awarded a small amount, representing the time spent before being screened out. The submissions page shows the reward amount and a bonus amount.  In this case I presume the bonus represents the compensation for the time spent before being screened out.
It isn’t possible to see if they have both been paid or only the bonus. it looks identical to when a study pays a bonus.

I was screened out of a study (about Hearing loss) and  both the reward amount (75 pence)  and the bonus amount (30 pence) were showing.  I only spent two minutes on the study before being screened out and was paid the 30 pence bonus amount.  Not complaining and every penny counts.

I "completed" a long 90 minutes  £15 study yesterday - DHI study.  According to the instructions, it looked as if I had reached the end, having completed all the Parts.

When I clicked "next" expecting to complete, I was taken right back to (90 minutes previously) the very start of the study with all the same questions for the first part but not answered. I ticked answers on a few boxes  then realiized it was Part 1 again.  I clicked to complete the study and there was no code.  Not sure if it was a technical problem but wonder if I really was expected to continue by completing from the first part again.  I submitted with NO CODE.

    I might not be paid..

The same has happened to me a couple of times. I was thinking that prolific hasn’t set up their ‘screened out’ payments correctly.

Thanks for replying Slinky and DontBringBertie.  I am quite surprised and extremely pleased as the Researcher  (DHI study) has just approved my submission - £15 is so very much appreciated.

  • For the AI studies - what are people doing if you get a long one with not much time left?  There isn't an option to skip, and it seems pointless to only research/ evidence a few of the claims as you can only submit if you have done both?

With the new requirements to evidence every claim, some of these are taking me nearly the whole hour to do one if they are lengthy!

I close it down when it has passed the hour, regardless of the stage of the study.

Same here. One of the half hour ones it took me nearly that long just to go through and understand the instructions. I still closed it at the 30 minute mark anyway.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I look what the next question is and don't start it if I  definitely can't finish it and then close after the hour. However I do go a few minutes over as well to finish longer ones if needed. Swings and roundabouts I hope. I have asked for guidance on a few points but never got an answer.
  • Yes, I always close it down on the hour - I've been doing the same as @warby68 and not starting if I know I won't finish in the time I have left, but it definitely feels a bit odd (and wrong).

I'd really like to be able to get feedback/guidance as well - it has been helpful having the email over the weekend with a 'good justification' answer, but it did make me laugh when they are asking for a 'brief' justification and if they want use to evidence every single claim, whether accurate or not, that is not going to be brief!
