Hi has anyone had requests to contribute to charities doing a survey? I have had two now and no response from Prolific.  It asks for a donation higher than the sum offered to complete a survey!

I’ve only had ones where It’s a proportion of the survey amount and you are always free to say no.
Occasionally the ones asking for larger donations is part about the survey and when you get to the end they explain they don’t want the donation it’s more about your responses.
If you feel coerced in any way (over and above the normal societal pressure when someone asks you for a donation)  then report it.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

It's a request. Just say no, if you don't want to contribute.

The study takes around 15 minutes.  It has three parts and a short questionnaire. You will receive a fixed payment of £2.25. In addition, you can earn a bonus between £0 and £46.

Keeping my fingers crossed, but I suspect my bonus will be a lot closer to £0 than £46.

(Post-study) Well, I didn't really understand fully how the bonuses are to be calculated, but if I read it correctly I reckon there's a pretty good chance I'll receive no bonus.

    12 Jul 2024, 15:41  10 minutes.

I have had a long "run" of 'New Study notifications' when all were already full.  As a result I was pleased to be able to successfully reserve  a place on this Study.  After answering initial questions in this Study, and four minutes into the Study, this notice came up:

"Thank you for your time. Unfortunately you do not meet the qualifications for this survey." There was no information that I could see in advance of commencing the Study regarding qualifications or eligibility/criteria.

A Completion Code, CFK3BEPX was automatically applied - I did not have to copy and paste it. I contacted the Researcher because, I definitely do not wish to cheat and wondered if there would be a partial payment for the time spent answering the initial questions - including information about my pension and savings etc.  I am a bit anxious (because this has happened once before) about having a red "Rejection" notice when, on the previous occasion, the Researcher, that time, did not reply to my message and, 21 days later, Rejected my submission.

On the previous occasion another Prolific Participant had the same experience.  I contacted Prolific and asked if the Rejection could be changed to "Returned" but I heard nothing and the red Rejection is still marked against that Study.

What do you think?  If I do not hear from the Researcher soon would it be advisable to change the submission Code to "Returned" rather than being considered a cheat and risk suffering a Rejection?

Has it been a poor week for everybody else? Last week there were quite a few, this week I've only done 3 since Monday, including 1 I was guaranteed a place in as it's an ongoing study.

I would change it to returned to be on the safe side then complain to prolific about being screened out.
I had similar a while ago and they did reject it for "no subject data" although that was their fault for kicking me out, not mine.  Not worth taking the chance

I would be complaining to prolific. Researchers aren’t meant to reject people once they have been offered a survey.

I had that one. Also confused how the bonus would work. I just answered assuming everyone was doing the survey for the money rather than donating to a cause!
