When I click on the balance at the top of the screen rather than the old pop up bubble I now go to a new screen which shows what I've earned.
I did one $ survey and this is what I now see on that screen.Approved balances

Did anybody else do the £12 one with dalmatians? I don't think I'll ever see a dalmation again without thinking of that survey! Nice quick approval too.

There was one I did about having £50 and buying environmentally friendly stuff and they give you the money you don't spend back as a bonus0 -
Yes, I did that one too. I hope they don't send me the products, I would much rather have the cash!

Takes waaaaay longer than the 20 minutes they are paying for. 45 images with 9 questions per image. I've just messaged the researcher and checked the time, it took me 39 minutes and I wasn't taking my time

My understanding is that is changing and they will be required to report quite soon. I’ll find a link.[Deleted User] said:I didn't think prolific report to HMRC do they ?
It's important to note that participants are not employees of Prolific - they are independent contractors so we do not report the Rewards they make to a revenue service (e.g. Inland Revenue in the UK)
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2024/01/online-platforms-etsy-vinted-airbnb-report-hmrc/I don't fully understand this
the general principle I do, for things like ebay, £1000 trading allowance and up to c£1700 sales, and they only report after you hit the £1700 or 30 sales. Reporting £1000 trading being up to the individual. (I understand that the rules about earnings haven't changed and it's a matter of platforms collecting & reporting information etc. I'm not quibbling about people having to pay tax that is due.)As I understand it these limits are across all platforms added together but as I say ebay are only passing on your data if you hit that ceiling. What are Prolific doing, is it similar? Do they collect the info but only pass it on after £1,000? Can't seem to find out. Thanks for any help.0 -
£800 comes to mind, I think they sent out an email months ago. Happy to be corrected.householder7 said:silvercar said:

obviously I've read about it somewhere at the time to even know about it.I expected to find this info in the FAQ for the cashout verification thing, but having read those again (as I haven't done it yet), that is 'not being requested as a tax reporting requirement'. Not sure why I got that into my head.If anyone can point me towards the details of it, much appreciated.0
