Prolific Academic Survey Alerts

Because I work full-time, and there’s very few studies I can do during breaks at work I tend more towards £40 a month.
The difference with other survey sites is that you have to grab the surveys as soon as they pop up. They rarely hang around and if they do there is generally a reason. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I don't think they do referrals, I just go through https://app.prolific.com/
There's often a wait to get onto their list.
General advice is to answer all questions they put to you honestly and openly (it's all anonymous) and the surveys that you'll be invited to should fit your demographics and experience. They're all academic surveys, can't be gamed, so just be true to yourself and you'll continue to be selected.2 -

Oh you have to join a list to get on. How long does that usually take? That's annoying.0 -
It varies - when I joined (July 2022?) it was around ten days1

I'll proceed without a deferral. Apologies then to silvercar if it turns out I could of used a deferral code.0 -
Yeah I didn't get asked for a deferral:
You're on the waitlist!
We'll send you an email when we're taking new participants.
Are there any other sites that work like this that people would recommend?

"We turned off our participant referral scheme back in 2019. Our aim was, and still is, to offer a high quality participant pool with a great range of diversity. We noticed that referrals were working against this, creating larger groups of the same demographics. In order to encourage balance, we turned off the referral scheme."Incidentally, https://participant-help.prolific.com/hc/en-gb/sections/360003658680--Frequently-Asked-Questions is a very useful source of information about how Prolific works.2

As a thank you to @silvercar for being the first to respond (thank you to all 3 of you), if you're able to send me a link, I'll use yours as a referral code.
£40 a month sounds alright to be fair. Maybe on my commutes I can do more.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. Forum Ambassadors are not moderators and don't read every post. If you spot an illegal or inappropriate post then please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com (it's not part of my role to deal with this).
