I don't think you can complain if you are actually too tired to do the survey properly, and consequently failed an attention check. You can see why the researcher might feel your data is worthless. As long as the attention check is fair (ie not reliant on you remembering something from earlier in the study, for example) then you have no real argument.

Yes, you are right, thanks ElefantEd.1

Hi folks...is there a way to get Prolific to send emails when a survey is available? I haven't had any and keep having to log in to see if there are any. Thanks in advance!

@silvercar says, leave the Prolific page open and surveys will appear. The page automatically refreshes every 2 minutes.

It’s not like other survey groups where surveys are more specific for you, and stay around waiting for you to open them.
With prolific if you don’t spot them and reserve a place pretty much as soon as they appear on the page, then it’s too late. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
I wonder if I am about to be ejected from Prolific sometime soon.
After an almost unbelievable run of studies already full or where after starting I am not eligible to participate and have to return the study then three opportunities to start and, in all three (the last one after 35 minutes) reached a technical problem.
For the first time ever I have a run of one 'my fault' rejection, about three technical problems, some timed out and an almost eye watering run of consecutive returned studies.
One even asked if I was pregnant. At 75 and having had a total hysterectomy about twenty years ago none of this makes sense.
Then there was the one all in a foreign language like hieroglyphics
which I had to return after waiting for for the Researcher to get back to me. There were also a few timed out ones.
When successful, the rewards make a good difference to me but, right now, I am beyond discouraged. All my details are up to date.
Does it sound like time for me to accept defeat and leave before I am put out?1 -

Your place will be reserved for ten minutes, and the time to complete the surveys varies. Expect to be allowed something like three or so times the average length of a particular survey2
