ive got this one this morning 5000 places, but ive only just woken up and it said you might have to scream, cant face that this early!!!! Not on a monday morning!!!
I've done it twice now and didn't have to do any screaming!  It's mainly just repeating different pieces of speech but they are only 2 to 3 seconds long so it doesn't take long.  It's still on there, think it will be all morning.

I waited until the kids went to school and done it three times, didn't have to scream at all. Only middle submission has been approved so far.

I completed two and immediately got rejected from the first one because my submission was 'of low quality or incomplete'

Just my luck.  My test recordings sounded fine as did all the others throughout the study and I have had no problems in the past with studies that involved sound recordings.

I immediately returned the second one just in case it was a technical problem my end.

I have contacted the researcher asking to allow me to return the rejected study but heard nothing back yet.

Prolific dictate that you have to wait 7 days for a response from the researcher before contacting support.

Edit - After 7 days I still had no reply from the researcher, so I contacted Prolific support and claimed for an unfair rejection, which they agreed in my favour and so they have reversed my rejection and paid me for the study, so all is well :)

I did two of them last night. The second one got approved with a bonus even though I had issues with upload errors on it. The first one which I thought was fine hasn't been approved yet. (i think they approved the wrong one tbh). I have sent the researcher two messages, no reply. I would like to do more but I am afraid they will get rejected. Shame as there's still 3000 spaces left.

It seems three per person is the limit. I did 3 this morning, 2 got paid more or less before I finished, incl bonus, third one is awaiting review. I can't see the study any more so that makes me think 3 per person is the maximum.

The two were paid so quickly that I struggled to complete the study for Prolific, they were already under my submissions and no completion codes were being accepted, I had to actually log out (mid-study as far as Prolific is concerned) to be able to get away from that screen, but by that point I had my two rewards and bonuses already approved.

It was quite fun in the end, I too was worried about screaming but didn't have to do any of that  :D

Do you get the same speech samples if you have a second (or third) go, or is it different ones each time? Don't think I can face doing the same ones again!
Mine hasn't been approved yet either, so I won't try again until it has been.

I did 3 this morning and got different clips each time. Also had all three approved pretty much instantly. Bonus was lowest on third, maybe I'd lost my emotional voice by then! No screaming involved :)

    • The aim of the study is to investigate how the human brain processes social-relevant stimuli. In this experiment, you will view an array of three faces. Your task is to choose the one that is the most different, or the ‘odd one out’. After the survey, you will be asked to answer two open-ended questions and provide your demographic details including gender and age. This study will take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete. The study will be completed in the internet browser of a personal computer, and will not work on a phone or tablet. There are no right or wrong answers, simply pick the 'odd one out' as best as you can.

To ease the pain of rejection earlier, I just manages to secure a place on this one.

Took about 20 mins, as I opted not to take a break halfway through.

Interesting and fun study that paid instantly. :)

  • I managed to do that speech study 3 times too.

£7.08 plus £3.06 in bonuses with maybe another bonus to come for the third one awaiting approval.

My wife did come downstairs during and wonder why I was reading out strange phrases though!
