Where are all the studies - or is it just me? There should be an animation of tumbleweed blowing across the prolific screen.  I've only done 4 all week, netting me a grand total of £5.24.
It's always swings and roundabouts - I've had £16.47 worth of surveys since May 1st (and turned down a couple of the £15 AI ones).  Fully expecting 'not very much' in the next few days.  I average just over £80 per month ( and had to pay £11 tax on my earnings in 2022/23)!
    #2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £366

A survey on gift giving experience

In this survey, we are interested in how people feel and behave in the gift giving.

Just wondering if anyone did this study, and can remember what attention checks were included? I've had my submission rejected for failing an attention check, something that has only happened once before in nearly 2000 submissions and on that previous occasion the researcher recanted immediately when I challenged it. I've messaged the researcher on this current occasion, asking specifically what check(s) I failed, but it looks like they may not reply.

Given that several people are all saying they were rejected, is there something fishy going on? I'd try reporting to Prolific, for one thing that £3.54 is well below rate.
I've told them that I will report it unless they undo the rejection.
I've reported it. Not worried about the 35p but don't think they've handled the study correctly - and our submissions shouldn't have been rejected - especially not for "Failed Attention Checks".
No reply to my message to the researcher but my status for the Gift Giving survey has now been changed to Returned rather than Rejected (as of yesterday).

Mine too, yesterday afternoon. Given the lack of response from the researcher, I'm inclined to think Prolific has done this (and hopefully rapped them across the knuckles).
  • Mine too - changed from Rejected to Returned but no explanation.

All coming my way, for a change. I've been abroad for 10 days and even though I occasionally logged in to prolific no surveys came my way. Now I am back and presumably the algorithm can see I've had nothing for a while they are pouring in. I've had 6 surveys today, totalling over £12.

Just made my head spin with this one:

    Shape Learning Study (online)

This study will explore learning of abstract shapes. You will be shown displays on your computer monitor (such as landmark names or scene, images of scenes, faces, letters, numbers, etc.) and trained to understand shape properties. You may be asked to respond to questions regarding the displays through a button press or you may be asked to simply view the pictures.

It is in sections and you have to repeat a section if you don't get more than 50% right. Very tedious if like me you can't work out what is going on and end up repeating section after section! Almost at the point of giving up on it when it suddenly finished.

I've had one decent one this morning, but the assistant pinged for about 5 others I missed while I was doing it, and there's been a few more since that were already full when I clicked.

I woke up to 4 surveys - parts 1-4 but when I clicked part 1 was full (despite showing 10's of places).  Part 2 was ok and I completed it in 45 minutes.  But it was SO BORING.  I rejected the other two as I couldn't face that again.

Then I had probably the most interesting study I have had for a long time.  And it took only 8 minutes.  What a mix back to back in studies.

    Decision-making experiment

Currently stuck on a page saying "Waiting for the other participant." I've been stuck on this page for twice as long as the study is supposed to take. Can't get a completion code, don't want to return it and have wasted my time. I've messaged the researcher, but there's only about 20 minutes left before time-out and I'm not hopeful about hearing back by then. Anyone had a similar issue?

I haven't heard back from the researcher, but the other participant finally showed up nearly 20 minutes into the study, and I eventually completed it after about 25 minutes. Luckily there was a bonus, so my total payout - once I get the bonus - will be £3.60, otherwise I would be complaining about an underpaid study.
