Had a few waiting after I finished work today, so got a few quid. Algorithms seem to work well - I always seem to have options once I've had a few quiet days, which I have recently0
-
Watch out for this one, I got one of 2 spare places that popped up. Didn't spot the poor rate of pay until after completion.Reported it to Prolific and complained to the researcher as well.

When I opened this it said to play a game for 1 hour.
A bit further down it says up to 60mins
I didn't even start after that. Fed back not as described0 -
This was a very short study - I answered one single question.
There was a list of five women and I had to say which would be my preferred role model. I truthfully answered 'none' and the study link took me back to prolific. Thinking I may be rejected I went immediately to return the study only to find it was fully paid.2 -

Had an apology from the researcher who said they'd left it at the default 1 minute by mistake and sent an extra 87p.

I started this study and quickly rejected it. The questioning was beyond something I would expect - to the extent it was asking how much I would find school children in skirts a sexual turn on.
I reported it but I doubt will have any effect. I am broad shouldered and have been around the block, but this made me feel very uncomfortable and I suspect would have got much worse as these questions were at the very beginning.
I am guilty of not reading the blurb before accepting, but actually I don't think this should be allowed. The more I read the description, the more sinister it feels.

I completed this one, it was for the university i attended and therefore know and I guess trust it as an institution It didn't show anything graphic it just asked yes or no questions about sexual preferences and is studying the prevalance of them. I just answered honestly and therefore was all nos. It was quite quick, I would have quit if felt threatened or offended or like it was sinister but certainly the subject matter is not nice but was aware of that from the front page as was all in the blurb. Respect where it's due for not completing something you felt uncomfortable with though. There have been quite a few studies today after a lull for me.1

I did not feel threatened but I found the questions too far off my moral compass of normal and definitely not mainstream. I appreciate there was some warning in the blurb but the questions were very far left of that warning.
I do feel the follow up offer for some participants, a bit odd. It is certainly something that would have alerted me to something very sinister in my role before I retired.0 -
I found the aims of the study covered the content, the first page was preferences, the second yes or no. There seems to be a few studies that have follow ups so I didn't really look at it in that way. I am familiar with psychologists sometimes studying sexual psychology, even the darker, not nice forms of it, I guess we cannot know the intent but didn't personally feel alarmed, despite a good few adult and child safeguarding training sessions in my own field. I guess we cannot know the person taking the studies intentions but would like to think signed off by their head, it looked to be be9ng conducted by the head of the department- not that that necessarily means anything I guess! If I get called back for a 2nd part I'll assess at the time and withdraw if I feel uncomfortable as you did depending on what the blurb says.
Had a much more Interesting one about parenting and a really interesting one about gostaks yesterday and learnt something new on that one.
Best wishes

I may be wrong but I think the 14 mins refers to the average time the other respondents have actually taken. I usually disregard the time stated in the actual survey.
Don't mess with pensioners. :cool:1
