Rating stereotypes in answers from an AI agent

We have given various creativity tasks to AI agents and we would like you to rate answers based on the stereotypes or other harms they may contain.

Due to temporary work changes (involving more money!) and some domestic changes, I have not had much time for Prolific so far this year, but I have been completing the odd study to keep my account active, as anecdotally Prolific appear to not be keen on dormant accounts.

When I logged on for a peek yesterday, this one was available and I managed to secure a place even though it was a bit long to fit my present criteria, I thought I could get an extra portion of onion bajhis and boti kebab with the reward for Easter to compliment my chicken madras and special rice and bottle of rioja.

However after I had rated six tasks, I was disconnected from the server even though I had not been inactive for more than ten minutes.

A pop-up advised of the disconnection and recommend that I refresh the page to reconnect, however even though I attempted this a number of times I could not reconnect, so I had to close the window and start all over again, aargh!

This time it all went swimmingly and I completed the thirty ratings without incident but because of the extra six it seemed to take forever!

I did contact the researcher and advise of the problem but heard nothing back as expected.

Just my luck and hopefully I will have more luck with the next study towards the end of the week.

Merry Easter to all in advance, if I don't have time to post before the weekend :)

Seen in a study this morning (not in the description, but 3 minutes into the study itself):
Please take the time to answer thoughtfully and considerately We will compensate you only if your responses overlap at least 2/3 with others.
    Surely this isn't allowed?

<edit> I have returned and reported this one after wasting over 10 minutes on it, as it became clear that some of the responses required were ambiguous (e.g., asking three questions, only one of which was answered in the video, but the required responses asking whether the question - singular - was answered), and others required specialist knowledge of a subject not mentioned in the description. So it seemed to me the chances of being denied payment on the grounds of not matching 2/3 of other participants' responses were unacceptably high.
This was the study, in case others wish to avoid it:

Is the question answerable in video?

In this study, you will be provided with questions asked in comments on YouTube videos. You will be deciding whether the question is answerable in the video.

If the question is answerable in the video, you will be deciding which of the following of the video content is required to provide the answer: 1) visual, 2) script, or 3) both.

Nice to hear from you yupiteru - I was wondering where you had got to lately.

I've had the same problem with some of these studies, they pay well but sometimes you feel like you've been doing them forever.

Hope you get your extra bhaji's!! Happy easter.

Not a great day today, I had that study I posted about earlier putting unreasonable conditions on payment, and I've had to return three others because stupid Virgin Media is playing up and half the internet - including those studies - isn't loading. (Great service from a company that wants to put up my bills by 25% next month.)

I have had the same problem!

Have just had this; I returned too; aligning with two-thirds of participants would be a complete lottery and the task is not at all interesting!
  • Just had a bonus of £15 for a study I did on playing a game of probability with other people and choosing how much money you should get to keep or hand over to the other person.  I chose for the other person to get nothing on each task and for me to get the most money each time

Congrats.  I got £8.  I did (what I recall) as half and half.  So that would probably figure on the amount awarded.  I won't be as generous next time!
