Just seen that one - and just had the same experience.  That's my second Experiment Full one today. I wouldn't mind so much, but I havn't seen anything else.
I was up early and had a few.  There was a queue of four this morning when I logged in and then the fifth as I finished those! All have paid out too! So £12 just for logging in really!  Just that one returned.

If you don't mind me asking, how early did you log on?

I usually am up and about at 5.45am.  I find the "after first coffee" at 6am or so about right and certainly a sweet spot (for me anyhow).

I have just come in now and had an interesting AI one again (they do come in sessions) but it was easy, interesting and fairly well paid.

It took about 25 minutes in truth.

I don't believe there is a flurry and then lull for people, I DO think it is down to your profile answers.  Just make sure they are all uptodate and that they are fully answered.

    Edited - answered not angered!

After another disappointing Prolific day, when I failed to secure a place on about all 15 or more Study notifications, I was pleased to be able to reserve a place.

    It was not to be:

Play a social learning game! By econ.upenn.edu

I reserved a place and attempted to start straight away. This notice came up:

"Insufficient Slots There are too many concurrent players at the moment. Please return the study on Prolific".

As a result it was another situation where it was not possible to participate.  So many:  "New Study available on Prolific" today and no successful reservations at all.  It is not uncommon but it is disappointing.

    Report it.
  • Thanks, theonlyway is up.

When I returned the Study I ticked the 'Other' box.  I said that, after reserving a place, the notice said there were insufficient slots and I was directed by the Researcher to Return the Study.

When this has happened in the past I have never heard anything from Prolific.  I'm sure they know this is happening.  Although it wastes a bit of time, I understand that there is no penalty when a Study is returned.

I seemed to have occasional days when, like today, all the Study notifications were already full and, recently, this seems to be happening more often.
  • When you have completed a study that you later find out is underpaying - do Prolific do anything about it, like force them to give you an adjustment/bonus payment or do they just get away with it?
Only reason I ask is that I did a 70 minute study yesterday for £6 and when I looked back today that works out at £5.21 an hour.  In the blog section it says that minimum payment is £6 per hour.  Is that just a guideline for researchers or is it enforced.
  • Anyone else having issues cashing out at the moment? Button is essentially unresponsive. Tried on different browsers, same problem.
