It appeared a few times but sadly I did not have the time available to complete it because I had to much work to do.Pity as it was quite well paid I seem to remember, but there is also the possibility that my old Dell laptop that I use for Prolific would run out of memory with this type of study. If it appears again on the weekend I may attempt it and find out.0 -
Creative writing
By student.uva.nl£5.00 • £10.00/hr30 mins17 placesYour task will be to write a short creative story of 700 words or less. We ask you to do this in 25 minutes, but you can take up to 40 minutes if you like.
You will receive a guaranteed payment of £5 and there is a possibility of earning a bonus on top of this. The additional bonus conditions are outlined in the task instructions.
I sadly decided to give this one a swerve, as even though my creative writing abilities are not in question, I would most likely take the 40 mins allowed and that combined with additional study requirements, would be stretching my time available rule that I have at this time of day, when I should be doing other things.
So even though my inner 'Stephen King' was enthusiastic about emerging, the ramblings of my alter ego will have to wait for another day.
Hopefully it will appear again when I have more time.

Study about Smart Speakers
By iwm-tuebingen.de£3.30 • £10.59/hr18 mins0 placesThe subject of this study is a new smart speaker. In the course of the study, you will receive various questions and video files of the smart speaker's answers to watch. Afterwards we will ask you to answer some questions about the content and the smart speaker.
In the second part of the study we will ask you some additional questions about your own smart speaker.
Please note that you will need speakers to participate in this study, as you will need to watch videos with audio!
I saw a few studies appear this morning but they were all full. This one appeared just after mid day and I managed to get a place.
I initially began the study in Firefox 105.0.3 but I could not hear any audio, so I switched to chrome and all was well.
To be fair it may have been the way I have Firefox set up, but not sure as It was easier to switch to Chrome rather than investigate.

I've only had one study today, would have paid just over £1 but my phone rang and I failed the attention check on the first page. Ah well, my own fault. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
This has to be the worst paying study I have seen to date:1

Study Content: Thank you for your interest in our study. In this study, we are interested in how people evaluate objects and how these evaluations transfer to other objects depending on their relationship to the first object. During the study, you will complete three phases. In the first, you will be asked to press keys on the keyboard in order to earn money in foreign currencies. In the second, you will use keys on the keyboard to categorize names as belonging to specific groups. In the third, you will answer questions about your evaluations of names on a rating scale using the keyboard or mouse. The following experiment will last about 15 minutes in total.
I attempted to secure a place on this study, but I repeatedly kept getting a pop up box with the message:
'This study is in high demand, please try reserving your submission again.'
So obviously I did as requested and tried again and again and again until eventually, yes you've guessed it, I had the old 'Study is full' message. How frustrating can you get?The way it is going we will have 'duelling pistols at dawn' to decide who gets a place
