This was a weird one, but didn't take me more than about three minutes.  The pictures that it showed of "hiking destinations" were far more like mountaineering and so totally irrelevant!

Yes your right about the "hiking destinations".

It was the block of text that you had to 'go into as much detail as possible' that took me a while, I try to avoid these 'free text' challenges unless they offer decent payment, because I never know when to stop and my typing is slow and clumsy.

Quite likely I took the instructions a little too literally and went into a bit of unnecessary detail, ha, ha.

I put it down to the 'Prolific neurosis' or 'fear of being rejected' that I have developed over the years.

Classifying bird images when given examples

    By auburn.edu

    1 place

In this study, we will ask participants to decide whether the label for a photo of a bird is correct or not (e.g. common tern vs. NOT common tern). To aid your decision-making process, we will show the guess from a companion Artificial Intelligence (AI) system and its explanation for how the given image may belong to the label.

Unfortunately did not manage to get a place on this one.  There seem to be so many one place left studies appearing throughout the day, especially on the assistant.
I cannot remember the last time that I actually completed a study from an assistant alert.

    Leadership research

    By u.nus.edu

    1 place

In this research, you will be presented with a set of descriptions of leadership behaviors. And then you need to provide specific examples that can reflect these descriptions.

Rewards: We set a £5 bonus for 2 participants (4%) who provide the most detailed answers.

I have to go to a meeting in about an hour so thought I could fit this one in, but upon examination it required a number of free text examples had to be given for each descriptions of leadership behaviour's.

I was unsure I would have the time to complete it, as the average completion time seemed a little optimistic to me.

  • I'm the same, yupiteru. I receive plenty of notifications from the assistant:  "New study is available on Prolific" yet, even when I click straight away, the study is almost always already full.

I just wish the longer higher paying ones would ping up when outside of work hours so I have time to do them. Had to decline a few over the last week or so.

Not received any payment notifications for a few days.  I have a study that has reached the 22 days payment period today so I will be keeping an eye on it.

According to Bill from prolific support, they implemented an update on Monday that has caused problems and I assume this is one of them.

Had the same problem here, but messages and emails now seem to be arriving.

I've cashed out three times this month so far, the latest just now (although I could have done it yesterday).

There's definitely been something up with the payment notifications. I just got one saying, "You have earned £ 15.00. Your balance is now £ 2.00!" As it happens, I know I cashed out that payment a week ago (it was easy to look up because it's the only recent one over £15). So the notification is a week late, and the wording somewhat confusing to say the least!

Well I just got the payment for the study that reached the 22 days, but no e-mail confirmation.  I have started receiving them again though and so I assume they will catch up.

I have previously left payments build up, the most being £50, but I am getting reluctant to do this any longer due to all the technical problems lately and will not let things go above £10 for the time being.
