Fwiw, I find the alert thingy shows me a load of studies I am not actually eligible for, which it never used to. I think Prolific's ongoing machinations with their constant "new versions" may be to blame. The ones which appear on the screen itself are usually, but not always, OK but just missing out on the last place is a common phenomenon, in my experience. There is nothing quite like just grabbing that last place, though. Hope you experience that someday, Deleted_User.1

I find it's 'swings and roundabouts'. Not managed to grab any today (but probably had 3 alerts). Currently just 60p short of £800 since March 2019 (but with £11 pending). No complaints from me. I use the 'income' to fund the Saving for Christmas 2021 - £1 a day challenge — MoneySavingExpert Forum It's worked so far!#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

Anyanka1 said:Wow, olliebean, thanks. May I ask if the extra payment reflected that for the study itself? No need to post an amount but, if it's only 50p, I won't bother again. May I ask, does it show as a "bonus"? It is not one, after all; we worked for that, rather than won it.

Thanks, olliebean. I wonder what the issue is with mine. Can't see how the study can be approved and the extra block rejected, since one is, perforce, better at the task from having practiced the first 10.0

I am still waiting for payment for the first block from 23rd April and have had no reply from the researcher even though the first study was approved the next day, as you say. I can't see how my performance could have deteriorated enough to be rejected in a matter of minutes between the first and second blocks. I will await his review of the study I did today...
I'm not sure about getting better at it the more you do - I actually started questioning myself more as I went on. I particularly tied myself up in knots thinking about if two lines didn't meet where they should, which one was wrong. So I haven't done any more despite seeing several invites.
I'm fascinated to know who is drawing the figures in the first place!1 -
The wikipedia entry on the Rey figures is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rey–Osterrieth_complex_figureThat page says they're meant to be drawn freehand, but in the last lot I did, several had clearly used rulers, so I reckon some of the people drawing them are cheating!

I seem to be having an ongoing Prolific nightmare these days. Has anyone done that stupid head motion study? The one that states £4.00 for 63 minutes, then claims to pay £5.27 per hour? Prolific have figured that bit out but it does not end there. The time allocated is insufficient, the instructions for the attention questions are conflicting and the last bit just plain does not work; you can't select one of the two options, they just play over and over every time you click on them. Grrrrr! Yes, reported.1

I followed the attention check ok I think, but they should have explained that you had to click in the border to select an option on the last bit.

Thanks, Chrisv; that is probably the one thing I did not try. I think this researcher expects us all to be psychic robots who work at three times the speed of a human. The rest of what I think is unprintable.1
