I've had a survey regjected in error by a researcher. The researcher has asked me to return the survey instead. I'm not sure how I do that and whether I will be paid.

Go into your submission history and it gives the option to return it.
I’ve generally found I’m asked to return a survey when I’ve done something wrong like failed an attention check so they give the option to return rather than have it rejected by them, because it looks better on your record. In those circumstances you don’t get paid. How do you know it’s been rejected in error?Sometimes (depending on the circumstances) you may still get paid or have a partial payment, but if it’s been rejected fora valid reason then don’t expect anything back.
I had a £6 survey rejected for not fully following the instructions and it was completely my fault. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I can't say for certain so hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along soon.I had a researcher ask me to return a study because "I clearly wasn't paying attention".I sent a very stern reply and said I most certainly wouldn't be returning it as it took me twice as long as the stated time because there were so many glitches with the site that I had to keep reloading the pages.I was paid before the ink had time to dry....0

There have been a few I have returned which I have later been paid for.0 -

Has the researcher actually rejected it via prolific as far as I was aware once approved or rejected you can no longer return the survey

Prolific have some clear guidance on researchers returning, rejecting and offering partial payment for studies; often these are overlooked and I always find it helps to remind them in these cirumstances. Anyone who has spent time and effort on a study should be paid (with at least a partial payment) depending on the circumstance : here's a link you may find useful : https://researcher-help.prolific.co/hc/en-gb/articles/360014583000-Return-vs-Reject-When-should-I-ask-a-participant-to-return-their-submission-2

mrsyardbroom said:It was rejected via Prolific and I had a message to say my profile information didn't tally with the information I gave in the survey. I checked my profile as he suggested and it was all ok. I messaged him and he said, sorry, the message was sent to me in error and would I mind returning the survey. That means I won't be paid.
EDIT - I've just looked back through my submissions and realise I have been paid for returned surveys on more than a couple of occasions - more like 10 in the past 4 months. One, I got £8.40 for - so well worth doing!#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661 -

Do you still have the option to return via prolific if you don't contact the researcher and let him know because he has already rejected it you no longer have the option to return and you have reported the issue to prolific

Anybody having issues with Prolific Assistant? The option for 'Check Interval' has disappeared and now it only seems to check every minute or so.0
