Totally agree smodlet I completed the task and was paid end of as far as I am concerned
Although I do empathize with the researcher it is inevitably up to them to make sure there software works
I for 1 will be very annoyed if prolific take the £5 back0 -
Gods love 'em, they have realised their mistake and sent another email making it clear they did not intend to send it to all participants. I think we can breathe, guys.

On another note has anyone just received an email from that Traffic symbols one that wouldn't load? They are asking people to return it and offering to pay a "bonus" of £3 because they did not receive the data due to their technical issues. I will not be returning it because my work has been approved and I have been paid the £5; I have a completion code so don't think they have a leg to stand on in my case.
I did manage to complete it with about a microsecond to spare so it really is their problem since they should have received my data.
I got the same message. I replied saying that as I did complete and submit it successfully, in spite of slow loading, have a completion code and that they already paid me, I assumed the message was sent in error.
And no, I am not going to refund them the £2 difference!0 -

I don't think that was ever an issue, Ed; you have a completion code and payment, they have your data; contract satisfied and they have admitted their mistake. They could have just rejected all the submissions without completion codes/whatever but they acted quite honourably; plenty of researchers do not. I hope this episode does not put them off posting further studies since they probably now know how to avoid these server issues.0
