see I like them myself - they are pretty well paid at $20 an hour and they usually dont require much effort on my part. Of course if you dont have blocks of time set aside then its not quite so useful. And theyre usually approved very quickly.

Just logged in and almost 300 AI $5 15min studies waiting. Just lately that is all I seem to get, would be nice to get something a bit more gritty again. There's only so many videos I can watch

I agree. I had a lot of the video ones that I just couldn't motivate myself to do - the ones where both options were so bad I couldn't choose.
I've been away for a couple of weeks though and could do with the money now to replenish my holiday fund.
ETA - to the person asking for tips - keep an eye on how long you are taking. If you seem to be whizzing through because the questions are easy then take a little bit longer - you can be penalised if the researcher thinks you haven't paid enough attention.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

About a Rejection:
Valence Rating Task (O)By Yihang Zhong
I'll be grateful for your opinion, please. I completed this Study in 21 minutes without interruption and my submission has been Rejected by the Researcher for this reason:
"Dear participant,
Your submission was rejected for study "Valence Rating Task (O)" for the following reasons:- Other
Here is the message from the researcher:
"Took too long to complete."
Am I being unfair to think my submission has been rejected unfairly because I took 21 minutes:
The: Actual average completion time: 12 minutes and 32 seconds.
Intended completion time 10 minutes
Maximum time allowed: 28 minutes. I completed the Study in 21 minutes and thought it would be all right because the maximum time was more than the time I took..
If you think whether or not I have been rejected unfairly, please let me know and, if this is the case, are Prolific likely to be interested.
Or should I just accept it?
Thank you.

That is not a valid reason for rejection, so you shouldn't just accept it.
If you take too long on a study, you'll be timed out. Researchers cannot reject you for being too slow
You did not time out and it is an invalid rejection. Sometimes pointing out the rules to the researcher will get them to overturn it. If not you can appeal to Prolific.

Thank you very much, fabsaver, that is reassuring.
I have sent a polite message to The Researcher explaining why, in keeping with Prolific Rules, I believe the Rejection is invalid. I see that, if The Researcher does not respond to my message, I should wait for 7 days before contacting Prolific.
(Approximately a year or so ago I had exactly the same experience with a different Researcher. I sent a message to The Researcher at that time and my message was ignored. I decided to "let it go" but, this time, with the information you have been good enough to provide, I feel justified in pursuing it.)
Thank you for your help.

Prolific and DA are really slow for me at the mo, what is everybody else's looking like? After a great April with DA, I've had hardly anything on my dashboard and my 5 dollar Prolific studies are less now too!

@blondie511 same for both. I've had one $5 this week and DA is slow as well - typical as I had mentally started spending the money I would be earning based on how good April was! I'm not too concerned though as DA seem to have taken on a tonne of new people in the last few weeks, so surely are expecting a good amount of work?

I'm the same. Towards the start of April I had tons of AI Videos on Prolific, along with plenty of other reasonably-paying surveys. This week, almost nothing. I guess that's just the way it goes - hopefully !
By the way, what's DA?

Same experience here on Prolific. April was starting to look like the good old days. I'm glad (sort of) to hear its the same for others as it was so sudden a change, I thought I must have been kicked off the AI work but then I have since had a 'thank you' message (generic) from Prolific for contributing to it all. Hopefully it will return. It spoils you for the lower paid stuff.
