Open a second instance of Prolific in a new window, which hopefully will not display the chat box (or, if it does, try a different browser) and take the screenshot in that one.
I ended up closing the chat box and thankfully found the messages were still there and active when I reopened it! So all submitted now. Thanks for your help.

I've had a good run with Prolific but I have finally been asked to prove my identity so at this point I am likely to be scuppered. I have nothing to lose so I would like to give it a try with the documentation I do have but could use some advice on the process.

I'm really only comfortable using an old desktop but as it doesn't have a camera I presume that is out.  I have a tablet and smartphone, that no doubt can do a hundred and one things, but I only use for phonecalls and texting.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I was in a similar postition, and decided to apply for a passport.  Am waiting for it to be delivered.

    What is this about?

When I first got my place on Prolific, after being on the waiting list, I had to upload a selfie and a photo of the front and back of my driving liscence.  Are they asking for this again?  Am i missing something here?

I initially registered several years ago, and there was no need for verification at that stage.

I joined way before there was a waitlist. I've never downloaded any photo ID only my email address and telephone number were checked.

I don't have either a passport or a drivers licence with a photo but do have the old pink paper one which still legally allows me to drive in the UK.  I thought of maybe trying with this but am not holding out much hope of success.

I hate these photo ID checks as despite getting a new DL with photo sites like Gov.one still can’t ID me! So dread any checks with Prolific!

For those who don't have a camera or anything like that, or who are concerned about the security implications, please note that these companies are required to offer alternative verification options. In some cases this might involve an ID check by the post office. But there are any other methods.  If not, they are non compliant with the law.

Note also that when the age-verification laws came in recently, a large amount of verification photos were spotted on the dark web within hours. Some third-party providers therefore it is likely they had data breaches, or an alternative theory is that an employee went rogue and turned data broker.
Note also that Gov UK one ID thing lost its security certification some time ago. As the Gov. are determined to turn everyone into a 100% digital citizen only, any security flaws quite simply will not be publicized by them lest they detract from the agenda.

Be careful about sending ID. Prolific have just sent an email warning today about phishing and scam attacks from people pretending to be Prolific.
