For the first time since I joined Prolific, I've had a couple of AI tasks, training an AI system.  You have to describe where on a web page the AI thing clicked.
On the main page it says it should take an hour, then on the detailed instructions when you go into the study, it says it usually takes between 30 minutes and an hour.
But there's no definite end - it just says to click the red button when you've spent the allotted time on it.  Does anyone know how accurate this needs to be - do you have to spend as near as possible exactly an hour (as noted on the initial study description)?  Or 30 minutes as the detailed instructions said between 30 minutes to an hour?  Or does it not matter?
Thanks in advance from an AI-newbie :)

Ive had two of those today (first time ever getting 2 AI studies in one day), one said 22minutes and the other 60 minutes, I rounded the 22 min one to 30 mins because i forgot to note my start time and did exacly 60min for the second.  Both have paid full amount.

I'm not sure the one that said '22 minutes' necessarily was only meant to last an estimated 22 minutes. If you look at the task information, I suspect the intended time would be in the region of 1 hour. Hover over the task name and/or details, they will usually say intended task time.

Don't forget, the displayed time is only really just an indicator of what people recently have done with the task. This will include a proportion, probably a majority, who complete the whole thing (and take 1 hour or more) and this will include a portion who maybe do 5,10 minutes, then give up and drop the task.

I had a screener for fact-checking today. Did anyone else? It only had 70 places and there were plenty left when I finished.

That's good news. Hopefully you'll be getting lots of fact checking studies soon.

Got confirmation today that I have been removed from the AI studies  :( said it was no fault of my own but they review participants and move new ones in on a regular basis which is fair enough. So those that have them, make the most of them 😊
I've never had a message but I think this must have happened to me. I had loads up until last August, or thereabouts, to the extent that I've just paid a hefty amount of tax for 2022-2023 and have had to make a large payment on account for the current tax year too. But since August I've had absolutely nothing. I was stressing a bit that maybe I'd done something wrong that got me banned (though that's silly because I was always honest and took them seriously) so hearing that they move people on after a while does make me feel better. Though it's still very disappointing to no longer be getting them as I actually enjoyed doing them almost as much as I enjoyed the extra income. My husband has now joined Prolific so I'm hoping he might start getting them, though he's in a higher tax bracket than I am so it won't be quite as lucrative plus he has less free time than me so won't do as many.

Those of you who are doing lots of the AI fact checking, how many questions are you getting through in the hour? It's taking me so long to fact check some, I'm adding lots of URL links and after reading on here, I'm trying really hard not to click 'can't confidently assess'

They say that they care more about accuracy than speed. I might get through two in an hour, four if they're shorter. It honestly does just depend on how many facts there are and how easy they are to check. I also use lots of sources. I might include two or three for each individual claim if it's more complex.
