Virgin Media, once we eventually after we managed of over a hour trying to speak to someone, have said as we have V Plus boxes we will have to pay £5 a month to upgrade to to a V6 box. It is only free for customers who have Tivo Boxes We have been customers since 2012 so they is how they treat loyalty..The usual unhelpful response from Virgin Media. We have today written a letter complaining and if they still refuse to let us have V6 boxes without an additional charge then we will look to move to another provider.
That doesnt sound right as it`s the V+ boxes they want rid of due to card sharing

Have you tried going through the process online ?
    Have a nice day :)
  • We don't have a tivo box, or any box that records, and we qualify for the v6 with no initial charge or increase in monthly payments.

I got a text from Virgin today saying they could install tomorrow or Monday instead of the 4th Feb. I just replied no will keep original date. I have two films to watch before deleting. :D

As I said in the other post I have the V+ box, but they will only replace one box for free. Since you have two perhaps the £5 is to replace the second box.

I have not yet had any communication form Virgin media about replacing my V plus box with a V6 box and cannot seem able to speak to anyone at Customers Services who is willing to discuss it. they were non committal on the subject. Is there a timescale fr contacting qualifying customers on the replacement.

Everyone will be getting an email over the coming months about changing boxes. I had no problems, I just said I heard they were replacing the V+ boxes with the new V6 and I have a few questions?

The man asked if I had received and email and I said no. I just wanted to know if an engineer would come and do the work free as I had read this was the case? He put me on hold for about a minute came back and said yes free install by engineer and they could send one on the 4th Feb to do it. It was all as simple as that.

I have hand problems(need an operation on both hands), so was worried about unscrewing connections, the last hub replacement was a nightmare they ended up having to send an engineer out to do it. Someone had tightened the bolt too tight and no way would I have gotten it off.
