Have you tried again ?Have a nice day0 -
Seems I am in for the free grade. How easy is it to set up yourself though?0
-
Its easy yourself but it does connect to the broadband router as well as to the TV coax. If possible connect to the router using a wired connection but you can also connect using wireless if this is too far away.
I think VM will ask for the old box to be sent back (they did when I converted 6 months ago) otherwise they will charge you per month for an additional box.0 -
Mine is the old V+ box, a friend had the Tivo and I never liked them.
My broadband hub,is a 10 - 15 feet away from the TV so it will have to be wireless.0 -
I phoned up to ask a few questions. So engineer coming free to install on the 3rd Feb.0

I paid £20 to upgrade from TiVO to a V6 box a couple of months ago, and it came with a new hub in the box. The whole lot took around an hour to set up and run the install. I've been a bit surprised at how often I've recorded 3 or more things at the same time (considering there's usually nothing to watch!).0

Yeh tried just now, will either speak or use the chat option.
A poster on hukd has had the same issue.0 -
The first couple of times I tried last night, it said 'oops there seems to be a problem'
The third time it was fine.
I assumed it's just really busy.0 -

Yes, it can be done, it costs though.

Virgin Media, once we eventually after we managed of over a hour trying to speak to someone, have said as we have V Plus boxes we will have to pay £5 a month to upgrade to to a V6 box. It is only free for customers who have Tivo Boxes We have been customers since 2012 so they is how they treat loyalty..The usual unhelpful response from Virgin Media. We have today written a letter complaining and if they still refuse to let us have V6 boxes without an additional charge then we will look to move to another provider.0
