thanks, probably no point shopping around - just loosing decent discount because of a years good driving with black box

Also maths poor - actually up £220, so gutted
Really there is absolutely every reason to shop around. Have they reduced the number of years of NCD? No.
You might be surprised to find out that with a year's NCD that insurance companies that DON'T use black boxes work out cheaper.
You also have to be careful with these black box companies as many will penalise you for driving between midnight and 4am.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Pity he didn't just tell them he did an emergency stop as someone stepped out behind him, or he stamped on the brake pedal instead of the clutch. But he'll know better next time.
How can he admit to something that never happened?0 -

It takes 10 minutes to put his details into a price comparison site. It might show nothing cheaper, or he could find something a few hundred pounds cheaper. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Up to you.0 -

Problem is Admiral give 1 year no claims bonus after 10 months driving - we insure car for 10 months at a time, this being second 10 months. So comparison sites wont recognise first year no claims bonus as technically not a full year, obvious as driving test only past 10 months ago too.
Think I am in a no win situation here .0 -

Check the renewal notice - is the price for 12 months? if so, there's your difference...All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -

The OP clearly stated that their son reversed into the bin and unless this was intentional, it was an accident.0 -

renewal was always for another 10 months - this is in order to gain another years no claims - starting to doubt if this is the case, not sure it will work if moving to another company.0 -

Must have done it quite firmly as well to be sensed as an impact unless it was a very heavy wheelie bin!0 -
