Peeks - similar to Baker Ross. Don't know how the prices compare.
Did the original event have sponsors you could approach? Maybe that's where the £100 has come from, now I think about it.
Any local shops or companies who might 'top up' the money?
As for what to go into the bags: if you can get the Global Rock logo / slogan printed onto something, that is a good reminder of the day. Baker Ross do pencils which you can personalise at £27.36 per gross (144). Couldn't see anything else affordable, but maybe if you could find cheap notebooks you could print the logo onto labels and stick them on?
(Have just asked my son what he'd like in such a bag, and he's no help at all. Sorry.)Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Thanks for all your answers! Unfortunately it was not a sponsored event, in that the schools take place voluntarily and have to find their own funding for costumes, transport etc (ie. the parents of children involved!) The £100 is coming out of the PTA coffers!
There are some great ideas so far. I have had a look on Ebay and that has given me some inspiration too. I think it would be a great idea to have the Global Rock 2005 logo printed on something too. This is gonna be one hell of a bargain hunt!!Sexkitten
Good things come to those who wait......... but the best will be taken by those who got there first

we have a recycling store near us a one of payment of £36 per yr and you can fill a trolley full a week.. they have loads of stuff that come off magazines etc and also lots of stuff for arts and crafts.. its called restore and i know there are loads of these places all over the country just look up your yellow pages or phone local council see if they can advise..our school although a primary has made 100s of pounds for our summer and christmas fairs...
another point those parents who didnt make it would they be prepared to buy a copy of the video or dvd .. our school did this when the kids went on a residential trip .. parents snaped it up.Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear

its called restore and as i say you pay a yearly membership that used to be just for clubs schools etc but now its open to familys.. ive never had to pay for any of my daughters goodie bags for her birthdays.. they get loads of stuff then nothing for ages at the moment its like a aladins cave of items from magazines.. my little pony princess, just 17, bliss etc.. i got all my party stuff for my 40th the table covering was peach it was a roll of blind material , they had ballons that were seconds. ok so the 4oth was printed upside down who cares lol.. i got wallpaper for my living room and also to make banners with and the paint to paint it with .. they do ribbon string paper bottles boxes buttons. and last week parts of dyson hoovers.. scraps of material that i used to cover my 6 kitchen chairs look as good as new. .. i cant give it enough praise and no matter how i tell it on here i cant describe it as it is .. most of the people who ive taken just love it ... so if anyone is in peterborough or coming to peterborough pm or email me and i will take them in ..
ps i know of a similar store in aylesbury but ive not been to see itThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
