What had i forgotten though - the place we went to provided party bags for each child with toy, lolly and balloon. It was included in the price!
Stupid me had forgotten ! OOps (not very moneysaving i know!).
I was reading recently that party bags are getting more and more extravagent and some include dvds!!!!!! (i've never seen that round here!).
I have to say though my son was born on another little boys 1st birthday and me and the other childs mum often have our parties on the same day. It doesn't matter what i do but
Brooklyn Beckhams mum goes one better!!

i saw in a woolworths catalogue yesterday that their 'loot' bags are £1.49 for 8!
spud's last party included goody bags, i hope you didn't spend too much on your extra bags spendless
young spud has asked if for his 9th birthday we can take some of his friends to the alton towers hotel! not likely lol! apparently you can get into the swimming pool for £10 each. i suppose we can keep costs down though by having the baby before the day of the party, that was there will only be room for one extra child in the car lol! i also considered using tesco clubcard tokens to get tickets for alton towers park, they're £6.25 each and just take the kids to mcdonalds while we're there. that kind of thing has the advantage that you can't fit many kids into the car so costs are kept low chortle chortle!
anyway, back to party bags. most of spud's friends just give sweets. i think when kids are pre-school age is when parents get the most competitive. we've had parties at farms etc. that include food and a pony ride, lovely idea but the parents also got a magician to come to the farm and they gave out party bags containing cuddly toys, sticker books etc. - the party must have cost more than £15 a head - eep!52% tight0 -
I think a good money saving idea would be to buy the kids saving bonds rather than spending over the odds to get better than each other. Like you say the toys and sweets are soon forgotten.0

Last year I made personalised choccy bar wrappers for the party bags and got some little polly pocket magnets cheap from ebay (look in the bulk buy section) Worked out really cheap.
I got a pack of small choccy bars (look out for shops own) removed their lables and printed my own (trial and error on size) found some piccies of dalmations that my daughter loves and put eveyones names on and a "thank you for coming". They went down really well!
I did explain to the mums when they picked their kids up what i'd done and had a choccy lable to hand so they could check the ingredients if they needed too.
Must admit to being a bit cheeky and i've saved all the stuff from the xmas crackers to bung in party bags this year!;)"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

My daughter went to a party once where they were given a £1 book token instead of a party bag. The kids were disappointed they just wanted some sweeties. Mums realised that this party bag was going to cost them at least another £4 to get a book~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

We took the kids to Brewsters for a meal tonight and they sell a selection of cuddly Brewster bears (an Eskimo, French, skiing and I love New York) for just £1 each. I've already bought some for my daughter's next party!0

Hi all!!
I am not sure if this is the right place ot post this query, so moderators feel free to move it to a more appropriate position!
I have to make up 93 goody bags for children at our school. The 93 children took part in 'Global Rock' which is a competition for schools in the South East of England where by the children put on an 8 minute performance/dance in front of an audience of about 2000 people. The ethos behind it is that it is a drug and alcohol free high! It's a fantastic event and both the teachers and children worked really hard on it for months.
We are going to have an evening where the parents who were unable to attend the 'live' evening can come and watch the video, we are also going to give the children who were invloved some sort of goody bag but What can we put in them?
Does anyone know of a website etc. where we can buy 'cheap' or bulk goodies as we only have a budget of around £100 which I know isn't a lot when you share it out but I want to get as much as poss for the money.
I would be really grateful for any help or advice on this!! :j
By the way the children are age 11- 13.Sexkitten
Good things come to those who wait......... but the best will be taken by those who got there first
