Hi there. I work there. You wouldn’t be entitled to have a refund in these circumstances, as the official company policy is that opened products cannot be returned, unless faulty. Store managers can use discretion in exceptional circumstances, though would be unlikely here.

If we were to attempt to return the McAfee card, the EPOS system would just automatically reject a return, as it will check with the supplier to see if activation has taken place.

As other posters have stated, the onus would be on you to be aware of the conditions of sale, returns policy etc.

You have paid vastly over the odds for and AV system which is pointless
Same for their aftercare crap.


I wish i could make a sticky entitled "DO NOT BUY A COMPUTER FROM PC WORLD EVER"
It saddens me the amount of people who fall for one or another of their rip off schemes.


BTW Dell machines are great - You shouldnt be hearing anything more than a whisper from the fan unless it is either the CPU is under heavy load or you are using it on a bed or something and the vents are partially blocked
