dispatch times and sales

I've seen a few discussions on other boards about whether having the ebay premium service logo on items helps to sell, or whether the TRS malarkey is a waste of time and I was always undecided about the effect it had on my sales.

Due to work and not wanting to get up at silly O clock to print my labels I have been extending my dispatch time to 2 or 3 days since Christmas, and then switching back to 1 day when I know I can make the Post office daily. For me in these past 2 and a bit weeks it has made a noticeable difference, as soon as I switch to 1 day dispatch and show the premium service logo my sales tend to increase three fold. Whether this is just a co incidence or not I obviously can't be sure but not having the logo seems to seriously affect my sales.

It could just be that ebay are actively promoting the fast dispatch items in Best match, which is what they say they do or whether it is because buyers like to see the logo I don't know and would be interested in other people's experience.

I haven't been changing dispatch times, but I have been making lots of revisions (new template). I have noticed an increase in sales in the items I have revised. Now I don't think for one minute the template change has affected it (they are all compliant with policy on listings) but I do wonder if it's an edit/revision that is making them visible (or more visible).

I generally ignore TRS etc. I will however avoid a seller with bad feedback, but there aren't too many sellers like that any more as they get deleted.

I don't even notice if a seller has TRS status. I go by price of goods, feedback and location (UK or non-UK). Dispatch times are rarely relevant - few items are genuinely time-critical.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Opposite for me, if i buy from a UK seller its usually because i want it quickly. If the expected delivery is more than a few days then i will look to the next seller. Even though i know often it will arrive at the same time.

I have had items arrive from China before a UK bought item before though.

If a sellers expected delivery is next day or 2 day then in my mind they are the type of seller to post promptly.

But we all appear to have different expectations and requirements.

Agreed, I will actively check dispatch time and postage method when looking for an item. Anyone who states 2-3 days to dispatch or uses a postal service listed as “other courier 4-5 days” is automatically discounted. I would rather pay a little more for the item than wait a week for it to arrive.

As a buyer I do tend to check dispatch times , I probably do it out of habit but if two sellers have the same ish sort of price and good feedback I would choose the one with the fastest estimated delivery date. So maybe I shouldn't be surprised that my 1 day dispatch increases my sales, but I am susprised at by how much a difference it is currently making.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to go back to. 3 day dispatch again for a few days on and off over the next month .

I find reading feedback much more useful than looking at 'expected dispatch times'. Comments along the lines of 'super quick delivery' are much more revealing, particularly as many sellers seem to hit the 'sent' button as soon as a buyer pays.

A seller hitting the sent button doesn't affect the dispatch or delivery estimate though and isn't seen by other potential buyers anyway.

My feedback is good , a good few comments about super fast delivery - but since my feedback is always there and showing it doesn't account for the big drop in sales when I go to a 3 day dispatch.

I’ve had dispatched emails on a Sunday or even at 1am, there are many sellers who pretend to dispatch hours or even days before they actually post, unfortunately there are many mugs who believe those emails and then say “super quick delivery” in feedback even when it’s taken 4-5 days to arrive after the dispatch email.

My local PO is often open on a Sunday, and I also pop stuff in the post box on a Sunday if I don't need to go to the PO, I therefore frequently mark as dispatched on a Sunday which is entirely accurate.
