Free DVD rental trials? (Merged)

Lyniced,
depends on the package you take. For example I pay £13.97 a month to tesco DVD rental (did use Lovefilm but they were quite slow, so far Tesco turn around disks in one day!)
This allows me 3 DVDs. This means I can have 3 DVDs out at any one time, either at home or in the post to/from Tesco.
I enter a list of DVDs I want to see and they send me 3 DVDs off the list (they will try and do it in the order you want but cannot guarantee).
When you receive the DVD, you can keep for as long as you want. As soon as they receive the DVD back from you, they will send you another one off your list.
They pay the postage to you and back to them. Some companies are better than others. Some will send you the next movie the same day as they receive a disk back from you, others may take 2 or 3 days.
Some hold a big number of movies, so you are more likely to get the movie you want, especially the new, popular ones.
Hope this helps.0 -
today in my boots mailing were details for 6 free dvd rentals valid until 31/03/06, only one per household, it expires 21 days after registration or when you are sent your 7 th dvd rental whichever is sooner
i dont know if i can put the code on here, but it is a code that anyone with a boots advantage card would have got if they have details sent to them.

any help would be appreciated here...
i joined cinema paradiso under the free trial scheme, having already tried few other companies. Decided to cancel with them, posted my two remaining dvds back 2 days before the deadline on August 22nd (although they allow an additional 9 days on top) and got proof of posting as they suggested.
got email from them on aug 27th saying they had not been received and if they had not been received by the 29th then i would be charged. i emailed back saying that since the 29th was a bank holiday then they would not be received then and that they had been posted with proof of posting etc
no reply until i got an email today saying they had taken £20 out of my account as a late fee. Unfortunately it was before the advice went up about paying by credit card, so it was a debit card payment.
Is there anything i can do esp as there does not seem to be any phone numbers anywhere.
thanks
Can I ask what the advice was regarding paying by credit card? I have recently been charged for a free trial as they claim they didn't get the DVD back until 5 days after I posted it first class! If you go through https://www.linemypocket.co.uk, you can get a 30 day free-trial with Screenselect with unlimited rentals together with £5 cashback. This offer is much better than the standard 5 free DVD rentals for 14/21 days that is usually offered.0

StudentSaver wrote:I use the Tesco DVD rental. If you sign up for a 14 day trial before 10am on 27/05/05 (tomorrow morning!), they'll give you a free DVD of 'Cats And Dogs.' I don't know if this is a great DVD, but they do this offer quite often, so if you hold off for a week or two, you might be able to get a different title free. Click here to be brought to the DVD rental website.
Hope this helps!
Unfortunately these are now part of Screen Select and I have already used them for a Boots trial...0 -
