    Contact your local cat charity / home or your local branch of Cats Protection and tell them about the case. This is really the original owner's responsibility - the charity will probably try to speak to them and ask them to give the cat up for adoption.
    If that all goes through then you would be first in line to adopt the cat officially.
    Then everything is by the book, you have got around this awful woman (and I agree, she sounds awful), and all you have to do is cope with a bit of comeback from her.
    All this happened back in January 2018.
    The OP has been posting on different threads so it's unlikely they are interested in giving an update.

    Dead by now I should think.Probably of starvation and the cold all because no one would take responsibility and DO something.

    If that person is really affectionate then she should have formally adopted it. That cat won't survive the harsh environment in the long run.
