Our lasses dinner lady was robbed and mugged at knife point in Finchley yesterday. ......
Nuff said
Sorry, but I could never live anywhere where the people talk like that;)In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
I got bored of watching K&P's programme. they are even cr*per when presenting live !0

I loved the way that North East Lincolnshire appeared quite high on the list, but then they only discussed Grimsby. There's more than one town in the county!
I'm proud to say that Grimsby is my home town and I was born and bought up there. It was only the love of a great man that made me leave. I still go home regularly and say that the town has changed, but its just a sad reflection of the rest of the country.
I'd just like to remind everyone that it's officially called Great Grimsby. Do I agree with it's listing? No, of course not. I can think of worse places.... At least the people are friendly, the cost of housing is cheap, its got good schools, good shopping, loads of pubs.... what more do you want?
You can take the girl out of Grimsby, but you can't take Grimsby out the girl!LMB 01/03/08£9001.61 £10/6 6089.70 - 32%paid off!

The fact that so many of the so-called 'best' places to live came with a massive 'BUT... theres nothing to do there' just proves that the criteria is wrongly skewed.
That said, nice to know I'm the product of one of the best places to live in the UK

Why did Surrey have so many entries???? All the 'best' places to live were dull, dull, dull - only for respectable middle classes with nothing better to do than worry about house prices and schools.
Give me a good mix of well off, not so well off, rough and smooth - its what makes a place good to live in - all types of people, shops, areas etc. Who wants bland???????????????~A mind is a terrible thing to waste on housework~0 -
Going by the criteria used in this silly programme, I must live in a right dump.
There are no flashy wine bars for miles, no designer shops, wages are pretty low because most jobs are agriculture-based, our tiny cinema/theatre seats about 20, our baker can sometimes run out of bread by lunchtime and some of the housing stock is 'shabby chic' to say the least.
BUT our crime rate is virtually zero, the schools are excellent, there is no pollution, we have some of the most magnificent scenery in Britain and the people have a community spirit second to none.......
Would I want to live in Surrey with all the aspirations and tweeness that goes with it? Not on your life!"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -
I found it so boring and the results are all based on a load of old rubbish. Surrey is boring and I can't beleive it featured so heavily.
I was surprised Brighton & Hove wasn't in there for one of the best places although I'm biased as I live there!
I'm very downbeat about Margate (Thanet area) nowadays and am very surprised that didn't feature as one of the worse places...its Boring (there is Nothing to do there), high employment, undesirable people, crime, no decent transport links and the local council are C**P, talk about regeneration but couldn't organise anything to save their lives!0 -
I hope they keep saying that Hull is a sh"!**le because its far from it.
From an non Yorkshire person, who lived near Hull (or Ull as they pronounce it) for nearly 10 years and only got away this summer....
It IS a Sh"! **le.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
