In my experience when you're newly retired you suddenly have more time. As time moves on and you lose the capacity to do 'other things' like running marathons, your spare time increases exponentially until, if you're not careful, you can spend time bored stiff!
PS: someone is going to tell me off shortly0 -

TSB online system does not currently permit online applications for the monthly saver. So can only be opened in branch at the moment.
Web page says they will give us a date when they expect to be opening their new platform for online applications, and just says 'coming soon' for all savings products. (Given their present difficulties, I wonder if 'soon' is an appropriate word.)
It may be apprpriate for SS2 to check and modify post 5 upon return from hols.

You can open a new monthly saver by phone; I did.
You were lucky! I just phoned them and they said that I would have to go into a branch at the moment but the web site should be up and running within a week or so for new applications. To keep checking online was their advice."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0 -

Heya, anyone who has previous issues of these, also getting issue 12, if so , what will be your purpose for both?
I have Issue 10 and considering whether to open this one tooThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

We've all the available issues at the moment, on a rolling 12 month basis, so we have them maturing every 2 months. This then re-stocks other accounts and makes pension contributions. It's all about maximising interest on our cash, which will gradually run down, as we enter our "draw-down" phase. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

And you can also open the in-store ones as well, also maturing every two months.
I don't know why interest is paid on 11th March - why not just pay it when it matures?I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -

Oh wow! Amazing. Haha, well I'm not quite near pension age (I'm 25), but I'm saving to buy and I use multiple regular savers to store and maximise interest , which I then plan to put (at least some) into my LISA to meet 4k limit at end of the tax year...
I do like the idea of what you do though..I'm thinking of doing the same (but not for a pension)
Interesting. So do you have regular standing orders into the accounts then? And when you say re-stocks your accounts, could you elaborate please?
And did you only do this when you were saving towards pension OR did you always use regular savers this way? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
