Depends what you mean by a flexi current account. The FlexAccount needs funding by £750 but it doesn't pay interest and you say that your interest rate dropped so I am guessing you have a FlexDirect which doesn't need £750
    1. hold a FlexOne, FlexStudent, FlexDirect or FlexPlus account, OR
    2. hold a FlexAccount and:
      • have been paying in £750+ a month for the last 3 months (excluding transfers from any Nationwide account held by you or anyone else)
The first year when i opened the current account i pinging in £750. but when the first year finished I just allowed a couple of pounds to remain in the account. Recently, I've started again transferring £1000. in and out, but it was after opening the monthly flexi saver. Maybe, i should give them a ring to double check.

Giving them a ring would clear it up but so would identifying what account you have, FlexAccount or FlexDirect. It will tell you on your statements or online

I went into my branch of Nottingham BS today to get my passbooks updated and I also said I would like to open a Sunshine Regular Saver. To my surprise I was seen straightaway, no appointment needed. As an existing customer, the set up was completed in under ten minutes, no problems. I was not given any sales talk, they did not try to push any other products. Account opened with £10 cash, to be topped up online. I was advised to set up my SO for the 1st of August. job done.

ColdIron. Thank you for bolding up the important bits. I'm dyslexic and sometimes if I'm in a rush I can miss important information! Clearly, I did this time. I have a Flexidirect Account, so it looks like there's no need to pay in £750.

They have today withdrawn issue 16 which paid 2.55% and replaced with issue 17 paying 2.30%. (Just as I was about to open a new reg saver as my issue 5 just matured today).
    Unhappy Ted.

How to I set up a SO for this account, online it just lists my account number, so sort code (or do they use a generic acc/SC number and the ref is my account number)?

Thanks both - I thought they would have had this at the end of the application like Virgin do.

    Either:
    1. Visit a branch
    2. Send off a withdrawal request form in the post
    3. Login to your LeedsBS internet account and send a "secure message" requesting a withdrawal. One of the options for a secure message is an electronic version of the postal Withdrawal/Closure form so this eliminates the postal delay.

Number three should be the fastest if you can't get to a LeedsBS branch - it worked for my partner. But what to do if the button to send a secure message isn't visible on the account page? (It should be visible on the righthand side of the screen below the "Contact Us" option.) That's my current problem and I'm awaiting a response from the Leeds.......

Update: I've spoken to customer support at LeedsBS. Their IT team has acknowledged that there is a problem with the "Send us a secure message" option not displaying for some users. There is no date for when it is expected to be fixed.
